This shows the path of the next total eclipse in the US, Mexico and Canada, in seven years. It's not too early to start planning. If you don't have eclipse glasses by now, you have plenty of time to get them before then!

Nice map, JAileen. The second pic in the original post is from a site I like to geek out on. How can we get people who aren't in N America interested in this thread, with snowflake sweaters or dresses that look like falling rain or whatever?

There was a very brief shower, a few clouds over the sun, and then they parted 10-15 min before the eclipse. Best moment= my son put on his glasses, looked at the sun, and had to admit it was cool!

Black sleeveless knit linen top combined with pristine white jeans/white loafers.

I am so envious of you getting to have this experience with your son!

It turns out, we could have brought ours, because we made it home before theatre rehearsal started but if there had been one accident, if the spot we found had been any further from the highway, or even if we'd left for home fifteen minutes later, we wouldn't have. It was just too tight a timetable to take the risk. Maybe we'll do it again in seven years. The experience was amazing.

Sadly, I wore a rain jacket.

Belated photo at home, but here's what I wore. It felt appropriately boho for the occasion. Were I to do it again, I wouldn't wear sandals. Terribly inappropriate for Wyoming scrubland. Second photo is hubby, rocking his eclipse glasses in said scrubland. You can see the long line of cars in the rest area where we parked to watch.

What cute pics of you and your son! I still want to know what sort of eclipse it was that I experienced where everything got all red. Maybe I dreamed it...

I have reported my experience all over YLF now. But it was really fun. Huge massive fog bank. Lots of people like me who were wandering look for a break in the clouds. These kids who pulled over after me were all, 'We don't know where we are!' Lol!

We had great weather at home with clear skies and over 90% totality. I think it was 97% and there was only the tiniest sliver of sun
I posted on Another thread what j wore. The photo below is of my sun pendant. I wore a yellow tee with black silk joggers and a linen jacket that reminded me of the eclipse. It is DH's birthday too.
ETA: finds for what I wore. I came close to using gold metallic shoes and bag but wanted to include animal print.

We traveled a couple of hours from home to see the eclipse in totality - it was stunning. I"m still thinking about it.
I didn't wear anything noteworthy, but I will say I was sporting lots of sunscreen except for one spot I must have missed!! I guess my eclipse burn will remind me of this experience for a few days.

Jenn, I totally agree, this was a boho event Cute pic of your husband. I think we all look so 50s retro in our glasses. When I read your post, I was stuck in eclipse traffic, acutely aware that we were missing our flight home, and not 100% certain we'd made the right choice. We were lucky to catch the 8:00 flight, as it was the last one out. But now we all have seven years to plan for the next one!

Joy, I love that necklace--great for anytime, but especially for the eclipse. Looks like a cute outfit.

Thistle, oh noooooo

Rachylou, one of the programs I listened to yesterday, while driving, said that things turn red during a lunar eclipse. Could that be what you saw, an eclipse of the MOON?

Briehl, I just hope that one burned spot isn't on your retina!
