Oooo, it's nothing to do with MY reality which is why I love it so much, it's pure escapism from the humdrum of bills, piles of ironing and will the kids eat their supper tonight kind of dilemmas.

I love trying to guess the designer, such a buzz when you guess correctly. I love how new designers can find a way into the public conscience with the right gown on the right actress. The men look fabulous (mostly) and even the most camera shy of actors will come out play.

My favourite red carpet moment was Michelle Williams in that amazing ochre (now beeswax) gown at the oscars.

The Globes are my favorite to watch because everyone gets a bit tipsy with champagne and it makes the speeches much more interesting :)! Plus I love Ricky Gervais who is hosting this year.

I love to see the red carpet fashion at all the events. Maybe BECAUSE it has nothing to do with real life.

Haven't seen the Bafta's yet though. I'll have to do some googling to see when they are on.

Anna, Fashion Police is a guilty pleasure, especially now that Joan Rivers is back!
OT a bit...but the documentary about her, A Piece of Work, was surprisingly good. And I think a nominee? Tho my favorite documentary last year, also nominated, was Banksy's Exit Through the Gift Shop.

That's another reason why I watch, I have seen many of the films, tv shows, and love to see who gets recognized.

Oh yes, I watch. Not only for the fashion - but for the awards themselves. I love movies and so I make it a point to see all of those that are nominated. I have several girlfriends that I get together with to watch the pre-show red carpet events and then the actual award show. Its a great escape from reality!
