I haven't bought much of anything since May, but this is a pretty typical summer pattern for me, not necessarily related to covid. I am definitely shopping/browsing less (not at all, really) -- and that is a result of the pandemic. We've had a couple of chilly, windy, rainy days here, which has me thinking about fall clothes and what I might want to wear. I haven't seen much in catalogs or online that inspires me so far, but I have a handful of ideas. Everlane seems to be coming the closest to offering what I'm picturing in my head.

1. Full midi/knee-length skirts paired with tights and leggings. Tube/straight skirts are feeling a bit tired to me right now; they are usually my go-to skirt silhouette for cooler weather, and I save fuller styles for warm weather and bare legs. I'm not super excited about jeans this year, and have a feeling I'll be wearing a lot of chinos and linen right up until it gets cold enough for corduroy and wool trousers.

Finding skirts in fabrics that don't cling to tights can be a bit of a pain, and I know my cozy tights need to be updated. Most of them are starting to show pills and pulls. Looking specifically for cotton-rich blends; trying to avoid both wool and synthetic as much as possible due to eczema. I would especially like some browns and burgundies for hosiery; charcoal and navy would be good too.

2. Chunky rust/brown knitwear. I've had this on my wish list all year -- a cardigan, specifically. I haven't bitten the bullet because there are *too many* good options, and I want to make sure I pick the right one! I've included a few examples. I will probably go for a v-neck and a looser fit.

3. Soft, light neutrals. The colour of the chino skirt in finds is really appealing to me, along with other off-white, bone, and very pale tan shades. I like the idea of these as accents and layering pieces with bolder colours like rust and mustard, and with darker neutrals like navy and chocolate. Optic/bright white feels a little off to me this year. I am also feeling unexcited by black for the most part and don't plan to add any this year, though I am still wearing and enjoying the black that I do have, especially washed/faded blacks.
