Boyfriend jeans - keep or return

Hello ladies! I'm a new member and need your input on these "1969 sexy boyfriend cords" from gap. Frankly have never worn boyfriend jeans before and not sure whether they are supposed to look that slouchy or they are too big. They do feel big, and due to vanity sizing I have no idea what size I'm in Gap any more (I'm normally size 4/27 and these jeans are 26). Husband's opinion is "return" but I'm curious what the forum wisdom will say. Excuse poor quality photos and the sweater.

Wow I personally think they look great. Did you happen to try on the size 25 for comparison? To me, the 26's look perfectly slouchy, and not messy at all.

(I think if you polled all DHs/SOs, most would say "return" to BF jeans, lol.)

I think they look great as well. Sometimes people size down on boyfriends. It depends how slouchy you want them to be.

I too think they look great on you. My Gap BF's are all size smaller than my Gap skinnies, but that's just my choice for fit.

I'd size down a size. They have potential, but are a little too big in this size. Try a 2.

I snatched them online for $9.99 and of course they are gone now.
Kristin - lol about the husbands, completely agree.
Angie - they are size 2 (26). I knew I had to downsize in Gap, but didn't think I would need to go all the way down to 0 (I normally wear 27 in jeans and even own an old pair of Diesel in 28 that fit perfectly).

I love the color but think they'd look ideal in a smaller size. I have the sexy BF jeans in a 00 (24?) and they fit me well--and I don't think I'm as slender as you (I'm 5'4" 112 lb if that helps). The jeans are 100% cotton and mine bag out -- but being full cotton they also wash back nicely. If you can't get the cords in a smaller size, I'd think about returning just In case they also have a bag out issue.

Angie - my husband is very pleased with your response. On a related note - I also ordered a pair of "Kut from the kloth" skinnies (size 2) and now thinking whether they end up being too big as well..
Aliona - I'm 5'6'' 144-115 lb. Thanks for chiming in, they are indeed 100% cotton and will bag out.

I see what Angie sees - that they are too big in the tummy / hip area. Also sizing down will get you a more tapered hem which is how I prefer BF jeans to fit.

Sounds as though you're all sorted. The only thing that I would add is that I'd try wearing them a bit lower on your hips.

Also FYI - BFs are cut completely different than skinnies so it's doubtful that you'll wear the same size in the 2 different styles!

I think everyone can find a "bf" style that works for them -- it does take a bit of trying on! I love the sweater on you --- such a marvelous colr for winter!

The size 2 KUTS might work out well, Daria - they run smaller than the Gap BFs.

The kuts arrived and they indeed fit much better than gap boyfriends. I feel like they are *tad* too big though (in the tummy area which is often an issue for me - i would say they would fit perfectly if i was about 3-4 months pregnant :)). According to the size chart I'm between 0 and 2 - is it worth giving 0 a shot or they will be too small? All sizes are available so I can order 0 to try as well.

Give the 0 a bash. And also you need to wear BF's with a belt - waistband is supposed to be big. Have you tried a belt with the size 2?
