I thought the exact same thing: cropped structured sweater needed. I could go for a crisper buttonfront, too. I wonder if these too tops are more oversized than boxy.

It looks like everything is just too big! That said, I can not and will not ever wear this look. I am a busty, short, fat-necked IT. I don't wear woven button downs and can't stand the lumpiness of layering over them. And I would look horrendous.

You don't have to love every look and you are a way better sport than me for trying! And as everyone has said, you could make this work. But do you need to?

i want to thank you for posting the pictures. i think all to often we (this certainly includes me) are happy to post the outfits that we think work, or at least mostly work, but are reluctant to post the ones we deem failures. but if we don't experiment and try new things, it would be pretty boring.

Did I see the F word in your post - you do not look fat! The white button-down is too big, and so is the sweatshirt. I wore this look yesterday and the day before, and both items were just barely boxy, not oversized. And trust me, I'm no skinny minny. Now this look might be better for those of us who are not busty, but I think if you downsized the items to just slightly boxy it would work much better.

I find anything boxy or oversized very difficult to get looking right on me. For the most part I have quit trying. Something about it makes me look even larger than I already am as well as sloppy. I can sympathize with you!
