you have probably seen the other post and a lot of news is coming out now with the President and the Mayor speaking. No one knows who is behind it. Apparently 2 devises were detonated near the finish line by Restoration Hardware on Boylston. Two others were found. Many of the people hurt lost limbs. It is still pandemonium there. It is just awful.
Celia, no one that we know of from YLF was running. Rae has a friend who was and she has not heard from them. My daughter's friend and her two step siblings were there and we haven't heard about them or the parents yet either. The children are 8-10. I am hoping to reach the mom tomorrow.
News reports and pictures showed that more spectators than runners were injured since bombs were in trash cans on sidewalks... my husband's hometown and we are just in shock...
I've been so saddened by all of this and wanted to make sure that our YLF family wasn't directly affected by this terrible tragedy. Sending love to our friends in Boston and those visiting the city. So sad for all those energetic, wonderful souls who were there.
just come back on line but have been keeping up on news broadcasts.just panic posted last night and didn't see the other post.such sad news coming through on victims and families.sending all prayers and thoughts across the pond,hopefully the perpetrators will be caught soon.
BLARGH. My hometown too... Bostonians are tough, resilient and stubborn - will come back roaring, but for now, it's time to mourn and find the perpetrators.
So sad. I was wondering about Isabel, Mochi, Diana and the other Boston based YLFers as well as our runners. Thanks for posting Clara, I'm off to read the other thread.
