Booties! Are they versatile enough?

Footwear is the bane of my existence, and I already have the hardest time ever finding anything that fits my ridiculously wide feet. I stumbled on a pair of booties that I thought would be perfect, but alas, they didn't come in my size. Enter this pair, which I found this afternoon and fell in love with due to the comfort and the button detailing. The buttons stole my heart in two ways, actually -- they're functional too! I can unfasten them and expand the shaft, which works well for tucking in skinnies. What I really want, though, is a bootie that I can wear with my numerous skirts and dresses. This one comes up a little higher in the shaft than I was hoping for, but I'm never clear on what I can get away with. Is a low vamp the key to wearing with kdresses, or does the boot merely have to fit snugly around the ankle?

1. With ponte knit skinnies, my favourite tunic and copper necklace.
2. With my much-loved cobalt dress. This style and length is typical of the kind of frocks I favour, though I have some silhouette variety now. Do they work with the dress and diamond-patterned tights?

VERY versatile booties, Michelle! You are sure to get so much mileage in these. I think they look great with the skinnies and the tights, though I can`t really make out the diamond pattern clearly from the photos. A good buy!

Michelle I like these booties and so good you were able to find a pair that fit well, are comfortable and look good. I think they work beautifully with your skinnies and can imagine you getting a lot of wear out of them this way, with the dress looks good too. I think continuing the leg line with the black opaques works perfectly. And I think the dress length is good.

They look fantastic, Michelle! I really like the shape and the button detailing, and the fit is very nice and sleek through the ankle. They look great with both the skinnies and the dress/tights. The dark tights are very low contrast with the boots so I think the look is overall very sleek and not shortening at all. I'd like to see them actually with lighter tights/pants as well since I suspect they will actually work with those too - the fit through the ankle is narrow enough that I think it'll work with higher contrast too.

Michelle, I agree with what the others have been saying. These are versatile and scaled perfectly for you. They look as if they will get a LOT of wear this fall and winter because you really have so many options with them. I agree that you may be able to wear them with lighter pants/tights as well.

Angie, hilarious to think of being on trend with these -- I thought I was at least two years too late on the bootie bandwagon! So you don't object to these with skirts? Anything I can do to improve the effect, since I know you're alergic to leg-shortening?

They fit you so well around the ankle that it really gives a very sleek leg-line! I like the way you have them styled both with the ponte-knit slacks and the cobalt dress (that color is beautfiul on you!) I cant tell in the pic that your tights have a diamond print - but I would think they would look great with the boots! Great choice of booties Michelle!

Michelle, I own these booties (see pics). I LOVE them. They are very versatile and I find actualize many outfits as they compliment the current 80's inspired silhouettes as well as bootlegs and boho styles. They are very classic! And they look absolutely great on you. You wear them wonderfully with skirts, I am jealous. I know how comfy they are too. I say keep them!

Krishnidoux, because of my blindness I can't actually see your pictures. Do share how you've styled these!! I'd love to know how others wear them and probably draw inspiration from those combos. They are super cpomfy, aren't they?

Hah! We posted at the same time - which always amuses me.

Michelle, it looks as if Krishni's wearing them with black skinny pants tucked in and maybe socks over top - hard to tell. She is wearing a very Eurochic monochrome black and grey ensemble. From her black beret, to these booties, she looks utterly sophisticated yet casual. She has a grey chunky knit sweater over top of a slim black tutleneck. The aforementioned slim black trousers (which are belted with a slim belt). For outdoors she has added as a black down vest, belted at the waist with an elastic belt to give waist definition. And she is carrying a polka dot umbrella.

Suz, that is a very accurate description! I am wearing black skinny jeans over the booties. I find the booties, with their sleek shape, pair well with skinny styles. I have worn them with cigarette pants too. I love how they look with tailored pants, covering the ankle, but revealing the heel.

Michelle, I think they look fantastic! I love how you paired them with the dark tights & dresses, and I've also worn my black low-heeled booties similar to how Krishnidoux modeled them (see Suz' excellent description) with black skinny jeans and a tunic or longer top to achieve a long, slender leg line.
I think you found an excellent and versatile pair. I like the way the heel tapers, but still looks like it would be sturdy and comfortable to walk around in, and the button detail on the sides is totally cute.

Michelle, I concur that these are the perfect booties for you! The leather and buttons are dressy, ad the style is so versatile. I can see this with skinnies or skirts/dresses (the dark tights keep them from shortening your leg line). Adorable! I'm so glad you found them because I think they're perfect for what you were searching for!
