Boden winter coats and bags - YouLookFab Forum

I do like to have different winter coat options and thanks to YLF I now have a Uniqlo down jacket that I wear beneath less warm coats when needed.

So I have purchased two coats from Boden and two bags. Blush pink bag and coat. Red coat and red bag.

The red is the problem, for me but what do you think? I wanted the red bag and red coat, to match! But they don’t. Not a deal breaker. The red bag goes with a shorter Boden jacket that I have. I can wear the red bag with other items.

I think I should either come to terms with the different reds or try another coat.

Photos below but the coat is not properly styled and over my dressing gown. It is a super coat. Button in a good position and does up well.

I’d be grateful for any comments.

Well I like all these items a lot! I see what you mean about the red bag with the long red coat though..... it’s a lot of red with nothing to break it up.
But personally I wouldn’t think it’s a deal breaker? I mean.... you could just use them separately right?

I love the blush complement of items in #1!

It's hard to make out color differences on a computer screen. I can see that the bag and jacket look close in color in pictures #3 and #4. And I see that the coat in #2 has more rust undertones while the bag is more tomato. Is this correct or am I guessing? Overall, I wouldn't worry too much about having a perfect color match. But if it tortures you, you could hold out and look for another coat that matches the bag more perfectly. (Or the other way around. Do they both still have the tags on?)

i don't worry about perfecting matching colors, even blacks and navys, so i'm not fussed that the reds aren't the exact same....but it doesn't matter if i'm comfortable with it, it matters if you are comfortable with it

I think I actually prefer a tonal look where the bag is slightly off from the coat. Similar to your blush items. It can read more sophisticated. But it is hard to see if the combo works from pictures so that’s up to you. I love blush and red so that’s a no brainer.

Are you wondering whether you should return the red coat?
I think it’s fab with the blush bag.

Hmmm... While I have several red items, I don’t think I would use a red bag with a red coat. I would have one item stand out and be the star of the outfit. However, I don’t feel that way about blush. I guess red is like spice. Some is good, a lot is too much.

From the photos the bag and coat look a similar tone and saturation level, just the coat is darker. Are they the same level of warmth-coolness irl?
Also, a coat wouldn't be worn all day, but the bag would. If it bothers you though, keep looking!

It all looks good but I suppose it depends how much you are going to mind the fact that they don’t match exactly.l must admit I wouldn’t tend to wear a red coat and bag together I d go for contrast but they are both lovely looking items.

Thank you Jussie. It is a lot of red! I can absolutely wear everything separately. I think blush is going to be my new white.

Thank you Cocolion. All except the blush have the tags on. It is exactly as you see 3 and 4 are close, and I probably would wear the two together. The longer coat I would wear more regularly with blush bag and other colours. I’ve contacted Boden and the coat below that Angie refers to comes in another colour, mostly camel with red panel - it’s an option but the red is the red of the coats so it wouldn’t overcome the ‘problem’ - if it is a problem.

Kkards, I’m very comfortable with black and navy’s too. So good point! I think it is probably very fine.

Thank you Suntiger - they are different tones IRL. I think one is blood orange red (bag) and coat is post box red.
