Blog post motivation

April

Yesterday's post about optimal wardrobe size did motivate me to make a couple purchases. I ordered this dress and this skirt from BR.

Dress in the cream color.

Last week, my Coolibar order arrived: 2 pairs fingerless sun gloves, a new sunhat, 2 more of my favorite white cotton knit tunics.

Summer wardrobe is coming along! It's my least favorite season to dress for, so fingers crossed that these items will be awesome.

The dress is lovely. It is possible that I need it in blue. The skirt shaping with the panels is so great. Regarding your Coolibar wardrobe, can you recommend any of their leggings for summer walks on the heat?

Great picks! I am trying to up my husband’s sun protection game; I am not familiar with the brands in that area and just bought an REI hoodie for him to try. Would you mind making some suggestions? He fishes, hikes and rides a gravel bike.

Coolibar: WAY easier to wear than sunscreen. My large hats have the chin slider strap for wind, and I buy a men's version to fit my large head.

I'm trying to post a photo of the gray gloves, which I'm wearing today.

I am a huge fan of their Deep Water Swim Tights as summer leggings. Lightweight and cool, even in Black, even in summer heat.

Nice pieces - the dress is really beautiful I hope it works for you. I admire your dedication to sun protection. I should get those gloves. What I really want is something for driving - sunhats aren't really the right thing and I hate feeling the sun beating in on my face through the windows.

No, the big floppy hats do not work behind the wheel, nor do they do any favors for curly hair. I just let it go because there's nothing easier to create instant shade. If the hat is large enough I can pin my hair back beneath it to minimize hat head.

Here are the gray gloves. White are identical. I love that they added gripper strips this year, which is great for driving and for crutching. Washable and much lighter for summer than my usual leathers.

Also, thank you for inspiring me to get some fingerless gloves similar to yours. I didn't know they existed and they are already my best friends while driving in the sun.

Yay, CIJ!

I will say one thing about the BR denim skirt. The top buttonhole is so small I cannot get the button in it, nor out of it - no way, no how. Somewhere I have a seam ripper, which may be the only way. The white dress is certainly lovely and I left it at the house where I actually have a full-length mirror. Will try it on tomorrow.

Well, I sized up and now will just hope the length doesn't become untenable. They had a petite but the CS rep said it would not only be shorter but tighter. Boo.
