Black or brown booties and handbag options

I hope the ladies of YLF are having a great weekend! (I had to go to a conference—kind of fun, but a lot of “rah rah” which is not my thing ;-))

Anyway...I really like these Chelsea boots—they’re a lot like Angie’s but the colour is dark brown and matches my chestnut brown hair. I saw a woman wearing this pair in black and they’re an extremely classic shape and is not too chunky.

I’m wondering what handbag options there are for this colour. Worried that they won’t work with my blue Furla, which is maybe a bit dressier.

Do you think the two styles work?

Another option would be to get the same pair in black.

These are great - and I think they work really well with the Furla bag. Both are classic designs, and both can go dressy or casual . And lastly, I think brown and blue is such a rich and unique pairing - I'd go for it! Do you have brown or blue gloves?

I think the bag and booties work together. Both are simple classic designs that can look dressed up or casual, depending on the rest of the outfit. Maybe. Top or scarf with both brown and blue would help you feel that things are pulled together. You should keep an eye out for a great dark brown bag that blends with the boots and your hair, maybe also a belt, but it doesn't mean that they have to be worn together, only that you have options.

Fab boots. Gorgeous with your hair. Works with the style and blue of the Furla. ANY colour bag works with brown - especially when your hair pulls together the look.

Brown will always work because it ties in with your hair. I like it when a color is repeated. So the brown boots would repeat your hair color, if you had a scarf with blue that would repeat the bag's color. BTW, I have a blue Furla, light blue, and I love it.

I was concerned about the Safiano leather and whether that would go, but I’ve been reassured!
I ended up ordering the Brown booties.

I’m excited as it is another small step towards moving away from black in my wardrobe. I hope chocolate brown will become more popular soon. I was looking around and didn’t find much of it in the stores.

I love brown with navy. Don’t think the bag looks too dressy for them. (Shoes are refined : no lugger soles, not chunky).

Smittie, I felt compelled to write. I own a Clarks pair very similar to this one and Angie's, only in a lighter cognac tone (that matches my lighter hair): and they are literally a wardrobe workhorse for me. Because of their narrow ankle line and simple, streamline shape, they flatter the leg the way a heeled pum does, only they are flat, which makes them comfortable and more dynamic. I love to pair them with leggings especially, but they also work with shorter hems.

Brown was the right choice. The contrasting side elastic design creates a vertical line which is visually pleasing too. I think you won't regret it.

Krish: it is interesting you mention that this type of bootie is as leg lengthening as a pair of pumps. I agree! I’ve noticed this with things that follow the top of the foot fairly closely.

I’ve not had a chance to try them on, but tried on their cousin, which had a pointier toe box. The sales rep said that this pair fits wider through the toe box which is ideal for me.

Love the brown boots, and they're a real find! It seems like the majority of browns this year are the orange brown (cognac?) I love the richness of the dark brown. I might have to check them out, as I'm on a huge mission for boots. Enjoy your new "friends"!
