Black Friday Online Shopping

I spent a couple of hours this morning shopping online. Two items at the top of my list were sold out in my size. I put a few things in a shopping bag but didn't proceed. I don't need new clothes for the holidays this year.

My conclusions: I already have more clothes than I need, so bargains aren't too appealing.

There will still be lots to buy on the after Christmas sales.

The only gifts I need to buy are for babies and little kids, and that's more fun to do in person.

Items to fill a wardrobe hole are items I need to see in person. For me it's scarves, belts, and a couple of items of jewelry.

How about you? Did any of you have some great finds online?

My DD turned 15 a couple of weeks ago and saved up her B-day money for Black Friday. She insisted going to brick and mortar stores so I obliged (telling myself it will be a good "life lesson" about choices and how one chooses to spend time/money). She is now home learning the benefits and ease of "online" shopping by using her debit card that is linked to her teen account. This is my Black Friday story for 2017.

I'm still dithering over which fleece quarter zip to get my son. It's hard to find an item that is both a fleece and the right color. He likes very dark colors, and has been picking up burgundy items recently, or maybe Merlot--more purple than red. That color distinction is hard to see online. H&M has several items in it, but not fleeces. There is a reversible sweater that is that color on one side, charcoal black (which he likes) on the other at Express, but I don't think he'd wear a knit sweater. Bass had fleeces for $10 as a doorbuster, and Nautica had them at $12, but neither of them had that shade. So now I'm looking at these two, trying to decide.The Zella looks lighter (bad) but also more purple (good).

I picked up a dress and a knit top, both purple, from Macy’s online. Macy’s has a nice sale today. I understand about the desire to collect no further items when you know you have everything you need. I’m set till summer now which makes me happy.

Have fun getting presents for the little children. I bet that is fun.

MsMaven, I'm not really tempted myself. Like you, I feel I have enough clothes, and the things I want to get for others are probably not in the online-sale category.

Fashiontern, those choices both look nice. I can see your dilemma about the color, though. Here's another option, from Eddie Bauer; they're having a 40% off sale, and I think this pullover would be included. My husband has something in this fabric, and he likes it. It feels like a fairly substantial fleece, and looks kind of like a sweater.

I bought some t-shirts from Uniqlo which were 20% off. I find sales can be distracting and usually when I am wearing 'sales goggles' these are not my best purchases. I do love a bargain, but sales are usually when I get my t-shirts, underwear, gear and sleepwear.

Like Sharan, my closet is in pretty good shape. MAC had a 25% off sale so I picked up my foundation. The only brick and mortar shopping I did was to return a couple of pairs of boots.

The only clothing item I ordered for myself was a black T shirt from James Perse. I also designed and ordered my Christmas cards from Shutterfly, got my youngest grandson's birthday and Christmas presents ordered, got a present for a good friend,, and ordered some cleaning products from The Laundress.

Also, ordered two Hydroflasks.

I found a few items for my special occasion capsule, which is very small and could use some extra pieces. I bought a velvet blazer, a jumpsuit, and a dress from WHBM. They were 30 or 40% off, depending on when I bought them. I also found a pair of faux leather leggings (petite length, yay) at Express to replace my current F21 pair, which is too long and seems to leave grayish-purplish residue on other clothing.

Hi MsMaven! I don't need a single thing either. Have done quite a bit of shopping over the past few months, but being the clothes horse I am, I did buy a pair of fabulous silver loafers for 50% off! That's it. I tried them on in a shop in October and lo and behold they were 50% off yesterday. Oh I also bought a pair of Kate Spade glasses, but don't like them, so will return them at Nordstrom this week.. It's fun to hear what others buy though~

I bought this Bcbg jacket, which was 40% off. (For Aussies, Bcbg does free delivery to Australia, no minimum). Janet already has the jacket and gave me some advice on sizing. I love the longer length and the collar.
