I turned 47 years young yesterday.
Greg and I worked our buns off in advance so that we could have the entire weekend off - and it was absolutely FABULOUS. I had quality time with my boys, which is rare and precious. There was also: incredible food, excellent weather, beautiful presents, global yakking sessions with friends and family, plenty of walks, swimming with Sam, far too much tea and cake, and a heartwarming birthday thread from YLF. Thanks for making my birthday even sweeter. I feel loved, blessed, energized and thought of. BEST birthday weekend ever.
I’m spoiled rotten on my birthday because Greg takes me shopping, helps me choose my wardrobe items, and makes me feel like a Princess. (See Finds here to see the items). The designer blouses were 70% off and waiting for me in my size. MEGA score. That never happens so obviously, Greg is my lucky charm.
Greg fancied me in a pair of utility pants, so I got those with a flouncy blue blouse and pretty pointy toe flats to match. Sam got the cream scarf, while in-house fashion stylist Greg put my casual birthday day look together. This is a NEW direction for me, and I love it. Utility Pretty. Very happy feet, and very clever husband.
Greg loves my bell bottom jeans, so upon his suggestion, I paired my new Elie Tahari blouse with my old white flares for birthday dinner out at Nishino. The blouse is a work of art. Photographic floral, lace insets, inverted back pleat, and beautifully finished. I’m wearing the polka dot and stripe Stella McCartney blouse with my navy gingham pants, white loafers and bag today, (worked with a client). I love tops with unexpected back detailing. I feel elegant and polished in my new blouses.
We haven’t been able to do formal outfit posts on the blog this year because things have been hectic and stressful. But Greg managed to snap quick pics of my birthday outfits with my iPhone. I snapped pics of the food.
I made my own birthday cake this year: Almond & Polenta Cake. We started the festivities on Friday night with a healthy home cooked meal and slice of cake. We ate out the rest of the weekend, and had a ball.
Sam gets a present on our birthdays, and would therefore like to show you his new squirrel.
The pics speak for themselves. xo
