I need belts and am having a hard time finding them. I need hip length belts that will go with winter white, and with grey. I need a good wide belt that will go around my waist to wear over dresses and sweaters. I haven't found anything that inspires me to make a purchase.
I did find some purses.
I actually don't have a lot of bags considering my previous maximal closet. If I look at the number of bags that go with my new color palate, the number quickly dwindles to two. I have one green coach hobo, and one MZ Wallace bag. I would like to have some variety because I do switch purses, and use them as an accessory. I thought it would be nice to start with something medium sized for everyday, something slightly smaller for when I shop, and then I could use a clutch for when I dress up and go out. I purchase bags infrequently and use them for a long time, so it doesn't bother me to spend money on a good bag. My big concerns are whether they are classic enough to work over time. Here are some bags that I ordered and that have arrived.
1. The Opening Ceremony croc embossed "hand bag". I couldn't resist this croc embossed hand hardware bag. . Is it strange? creepy? or is it fun? It meets my size requirements, and I like that it zips shut and has a cross-body strap. The leather seems strong and the hardware looks strong and substantial. Is it too funky to work for a few years? Will it become dated?
2. The Dooney and Burke bag is a perfect size for when I go shopping, or out for dinner, etc. I love the color. This one is definitely a keeper and it isn't overly costly so I'm not worried about it's style. Oh, it also has a cross-body strap.
3. The Chloe Baylee bag was in my wish list and went on sale. They also have it in a pretty blue color, but it isn't on sale. I like the Baylee style better than the Chloe Marcie bag (shown in the same color) because it zips closed. I hate a bag that doesn't zip securely at the top. Cashmere Gray is a neutral color and goes with my down puffer coat. I expect it will go with the DVF red coat as well. It's well constructed. It has a cross-body strap. The straps are substantial and thick. The size is perfect for everyday use. I suspect this bag will be a work horse.
I think my biggest question is about the Opening Ceremony bag? Should I keep it? What about the Chloe bag? Are they different enough from each other to justify keeping both? If I only kept one which should it be? (Don't think about price.)
