Ohhh this was a fabulous thread to go through! It was so lovely to "meet" many of you for the first time

I have posted my face plenty, but here's a photo taken with my cell phone in the bathroom at work just a few minutes ago (sans lip color) And Una, just for you, it is from straight on which I pretty much never, ever do.

(JONESY! WOW! *fans self*)

EDIT: OK I do have to add if you're going for what you'd see in person, you would see a LOT more teeth as anyone who's met me could verify

Aida, having seen you in person I can honesly say you are stunning from all sides! The biggest issue for me with straight on face photos is that I can't smile naturally for the camera and always end up looking pained and/or snarky.

I was sure Elisabeth was a brunette too!

I AM a brunette! At least, I think so. My hair's not blond or red or black, so that pretty much leaves brunette, right? It's only light brown though. Scandinavian brown? To go with the whitey white skin and pale eyes.

That picture of me in the pink jacket is from five years ago, I think. At the time my hair was dyed blond. I prefer it au naturel these days.

OMG, a picture of elisabeth! And yes, you look pretty much exactly like I pictured you. Just like Alaskagirl said, you're very good at describing yourself.

Aw Una you are sweet <3 I hate taking straight-on photos because my face has too many asymmetries that don't play well together on film, heh.

And having met YOU I can say that your smile is neither pained nor snarky! Crinkle those pretty eyes up a bit at the outsides, I bet that helps!

My real smile I'm good with... it's the smile on camera that always looks goofy!

LOL - asymmetries!

The eye crinkle is a key element that most people don't do on camera FWIW, I don't use my "real" smile on camera or all you'd see was teeth and cheeks. I honestly practiced in front of a mirror for quite a while to get my "camera smile" options down way back in the day when I was doing more stage/photo stuff. And my sis and mom both asked for tips and after seeing their camera smiles? They're not using their eyes on camera!

(I promise you the asymmetries are there! I just dazzle with my teeth and cheeks to distract hehe)

Wonderful to see everyone, thought I would join in on the fun.

This thread makes me happy. I love looking at all of your beautiful, smiling faces.

Tracina! You are so pretty!

Most of my WIW pictures are taken early in the day when I'm still feeling fresh. Here's what I look like after a long day of work and child wrangling.

Thanks Amy. Love your google eyes! I want to know what color you consider your hair. We seem to match and I have been called blonde, red and brown. I think in real life it's all 3.

Okay sorry, but I just have to better express my excitement about the big reveals here. Jonesy! Elisabeth! I just can't really say how exciting it is to see you both. It is so lovely to see everybody's candid face, both familiar folks and also new people. And the thing about the eye crinkle is fascinating. Note to self, work the eyes in the future.

The big reveals are awesome! What a fab thread.

Seeing as I'm sitting on the sofa with an evil head cold, I won't subject you to a current pic. Instead, I'll add two older ones.

The first one is for Elisabeth:) It was taken 8 years ago.

The second is a farm candid you all have seen before. Weekend farm style: no makeup, baseball cap, grubby shorts. Oh, and Tango, my cherub.

This is such a wonderful idea! So nice to put faces to the names. I have been working on the pc all day and have black bags under my eyes, so I combed my hair and put on a dash of lipstick... It was hard to get a shot where I didn't look either drunk or frightened - LOL!

Oh, what a wonderful thread!!!
Una, I think you should win a prize for continuously asking the best questions on the forum.

This is last weekend's photo when I was trying on a new lipstick, then took a photo with my son... I probably cannot look more relaxed or myself than on this one

I can't believe how this thread has taken on a life of its own - it makes me so happy. You are all so wonderful for indulging my request and I can't begin to describe the feeling of warmth and joy in seeing every one of you - both the familiar faces, the newbies, and the "big reveals" (LOL!)...

Feel free to keep it going, of course!

Ornella, a new lippie always makes me smile! Tracina, what glorious red hair you have! My mother and all the women in her family for generations back had red hair but sadly neither my sister nor I inherited it. Amy, no matter what hour of the day it is, you always look adorable.

Wow, sorry I missed this Una! But you guys see me all the time. Here I am at the end of a day washing windows, yesterday's hair and no make-up.

Eeep! Late night lounge wear and all around unFABness, but I thought I'd play along. : P

It's been so awesome to meet new faces and see familiar heads revealed. (Yeah, I'm talking to you pretty-faced Jonesy!!)

This thread is awesome Una. Thank you for starting this up. You are all beautiful!

My plan was to present some WIWs before the NYC gathering but it might not happen. Since I think is only fair for you to be able to recognize me... here it is!
I'm sorry for the butchered crop, I'm trying to protect the innocent:) This was taken this past New Year's Eve. That explains the off the shoulder look and glittery top LOL !

I was going thru a big facial flush and I'm wearing more eye makeup than usual, but this is me for the most part!

OMG, Zap - how old (young!) are you? I thought you were around my age from your o-so-wise posts and great advice! You are beautiful!

Ahh Thanks Una!
We probably are the same age, I think. I'm 2.5 away from the big four o'...

Wow, you look quite a bit younger. I'm about to turn 46 and Alaska is aging me even more quickly!

Wha? My goodness gracious Una, stay in Alaska forever, the cold is preserving you

Both of you--I can't believe it! Youngsters! (and I can't think of two environments much more different than AK and NYC)

Cryogenics? Or maybe it's so cold that my face is frozen, like natural Botox. Believe me, I feel decrepit and stiff from being chilly all the time - even with the heat up in the house!
