I had been planning to go for another big chop before we were forced to start working from home in Oct/ Nov. I thought I would put it off until I got back from holiday in January, but then the virus struck. I've gotten very good at tucking my hair into a faux bob as a result - lots of my old hair clips & slides have finally come out of hiding, haha

I am pretty shaggy, but my last cut was soooo good that it is holding up really well. I think I have a few bobby pins in a drawer somewhere! My color on the other hand . . . I know I will resort to box dye soon enough. I bought a whopping online gift certificate from my stylist, who runs a one person salon and I'm sure is very worried.

I must say I am very happy not to put on makeup every day.

I'm trimming my bangs a bit as usual but the my short pixie cut will soon start looking off ( especially on the sides - difficult to trim by myself ).
I wouldn't do my own coloring - bad experience in the past - green hair as a result .

I was supposed to get my hair done on Monday...not happening . My stylist is talking about doing a Roots Challenge. I'm not participating! I'm going to order the stuff you spray on your roots for when I have Zoom meetings! PSA, if you're thinking of doing this, the colors are a lot darker than you think! I'm with Janet and will be doing a lot of pony tails.

The salon I go to is in the same building that housed a cafe. They (the salon) will be selling their root touch up and other hair color through the cafe’s drive through. That kind of tickled me.

Yep,all the salons shut here to.Long hair here I come. Will look more interesting on my husband than me!

Yup. Salons, Spas, Nail Places closed a week ago here in WA state. I'll blog about our changing grooming routines. And yup - I will have a bob by July

Non-essentials services are closed here. That includes hair salons, nail spas, etc. I also got Botox for migraines. I was overdue. My physician sent out an email on Friday saying that she was no longer seeing patients in person. I am already having brutal migraines.
I am not worried about my hair. I can cut my own bangs and I don't colour my hair. I am concerned about my eyebrows. I have never been able to groom them myself.

Very sorry about everyone with migraines- and hope there are good alternatives!
I just had my hair cut a few weeks ago, and go 3-4 months in between, so no worries there. Color I can do myself, or the root touch up spray (but don't trust it on rainy days). Nails, same- I only occasionally get manicures. Brows I'm resorting to trimming stray bits with little scizzors. Tweezing scares me :/

We're on our second week of salons being closed and I think it'll be another two at least. My hair was already in need of a trim and a color. I'm going to embrace it and try some different ways of styling . I have virtually every appliance known to man so it's time to drag them out. My hair will possibly be completely fried at the end of all this though
My husbands hair is already a disaster and he won't let me near it due to past bad experiences lol.

I am possibly either a really well prepared woman, or a really shallow woman... because as soon as I heard that we were about to be quarantined, I got the shellac polish removed from my nails, and got my hair trimmed.

Of course I normally get a trim every 2 weeks, so I'm already panicked.

This is a weird time in so many ways, isn't it?

HEREFORTHECAKE, it is indeed a weird time in so many ways!

I may have to develop some skill with a curling iron. Right now I just blow dry my hair with a little styling gel. But in 2-3 weeks it’s going to need extra help.

Non essential services are closed, here, too. I am really happy that I decided to embrace my gray hair almost 4 years ago. I’m going to have to do my best to banish the brassy tones that want to creep in. The last time I went to the salon, I had 4 inches cut off. The length was just getting to be too heavy and too much. I’m sure I’ll need a cut overhaul by the time I can go back. Meanwhile, when the authentic me has a bad hair day, I will put on a smile and a hat and know I have done my best.

My state just mandated another 2 week isolation starting tonight. I have already been home for the past 8 weeks recovering from surgery in late January. Last trim was 9 weeks ago. I have been contemplating growing out my hair on and off for a year, so I guess circumstances have decided it for me.

I am also glad I decided to stop dying my hair a long while ago, but am sad I can't get a hair cut. I was due for my next cut right as the salons closed. I know my hair will be driving me crazy soon, but I worry even more about my local salon and hairdresser and whether they will make it through this financially.

Dentists are another one. Had hair appointment and dental cleaning in same week, both canceled. Keep up with your dental hygiene during this time!

I am also worried about my local nail salon. So weird to walk by this weekend and see their nearly-always-open place shuttered. I know many of them are supporting extended families.

I'm frustrated that governors had to take actions like this. They wouldn't have had to if people were practicing proper social distancing. I share everyone's frustration, although it is waxing appointments I miss more, but I'm even more frustrated that people need to be forced to be safe.

People should have been canceling and providers should have been closing long before they were forced to. This is part of the reason we can't get ahead of the curve. Politicians are waiting for people to do the right thing on their own, and they don't.

I'm pretty sure that our spas and salons were ordered to shut down last week. My last haircut was a little over two months ago. I should technically get my hair cut after two months (it starts looking a little shapeless at that point), but I usually manage to stretch it to three. So three (at least) it is!

I have already been cutting my own bangs. I wanted to save on the bang trim, and since I have wavy hair that is on the messy side, things don't have to be perfect. I have been doing reasonably well, but this last time, my bangs didn't look as good as before. I think that my hair stylist cut them in a special way initially, and at this point, all of that would have grown out.

I think that hairdressers will see a big surge in appointments once this whole thing is over. People are going to feel really messy and unkempt and want to get their hair cut off!
