It's super-unusual for me not to buy anything in August (it's my birthday month and the start of fall shopping), but it was also a super-unusual August. As of last Wednesday, we officially live in California, but are still in transition, with the bulk of our possessions in storage until September 10. I'm also dealing (poorly) with the reality that summer is going to continue for another two months and winter won't happen for me anymore. I'm maybe sulking a little.

Here's the boilerplate:

In our yearlong shopping challenge, I committed to buying 31 or fewer items (not counting undergarments).

January - 0 items

February - 5 items

March - 2 items

April - 2 items

May - 4 items

June - 1 item

July - 2 items

August - 0 items

This brings my total purchases for the year to 16 purchases, just over halfway through my allotment, but 3/4 of the way through the year! You can see all my 2019 purchases together in the linked collection. I've retired 23 items this year, so my wardrobe is shrinking. All in all, I have 112 items total in my closet, if I count all categories except jewelry, underwear and sleepwear (though I am counting sleep/lounge in my 31 purchases and my retirements.)
