Ask Greg: What happened to the "Mark as Spam" option?

Been seeing a lot of questionable posts floating around, so I've just been using the report button, but the MAS option seemed quicker.

ha- I was marking up a spam storm earlier. I think it was in the bottom right hand corner of the posters comment.

hmmm, now that I go exploring I'm only seeing the "report" option as well. I know I was clicking on the spam option about an hour or so ago. Is that option only available on "members" as opposed to active and veterans?

I think the spam option is only available for new members posts'.

"Mark as Spam" is only available to members on the veteran level, and only shows up on the posts of new members.

There are some recent spammers who registered their users a while back, and then only started posting spam today. So after their 5th spammy post they became active members and the "Mark as Spam" option stopped appearing on their posts.

BTW, thanks again for helping to keep the forum clean.

Thanks, Greg! I figured it had something to do with posts or registration date. I'll keep clicking away no matter what button there is.
