Update: Bra fitting, everyone should have maybe 2 in their lifetime done. One when you are young and perky and another one when you mature and perky.

So I went to a small intimate apparel boutique in the south suburbs of Chicago that catered to plus size women. My experience was very positive especially empowered with the advise from you all on this forum.

As a grown women I was still somewhat embarrassed at having someone measure me for a Bra. Although the consultant was very professional and reassuring.

We talked for about 20 minutes of goals and expectations which was very surprising to me. But, how else could you learn of what I needed to work in my everyday active life.

I brought two Bras

Fits perfect.Hope Maidenform continues to make this bra. I will continue to
order. I am not one to wear a different bra for every outfit. I find a
bra I like and wear it.I
highly recommend this bra for the active lifestyle person.

I love it, love it, love it. After wearing and being active for several days. I can say that this is a keeper and affordable. Now that I know my correct size 38 D and what to look for I can now have the foundational support I need. Thank you for reading.

Thanks for the update! And congrats on finding a great bra. Discovering a few years back how a bra was really supposed to fit changed my life (I went from 34A to 30DD/E). You can't buy my size in B&M stores in Germany, but ordering online is so worth it. I'm also sticking to one bra that truly works fit wise, I really hope they'll keep making it! I'm thinking of adding something fun and lacy that isn't bra sized for summer though, I'm small enough to get away with it.

So glad you found a bra that works for you. As I said before, I couldn't believe how dumb I was to think a bra which worked for a petite, small-breasted woman would work equally well when sized up for her more statuesque counterpart. I'd never have applied that logic to shoes, tops, bottoms--in short, any other article of clothing but a bra.

A bra is a fundamental piece of clothing for most women, yet probably the one we spend the least time, energy, and money to get right. Seems crazy when you look at it that way.

Astrid- your right I think that ordering off line has is positives as I grow more I will be able to branch out. A few lace items would be so pretty. Even it is just me who knows I'm wearing them.

Gaylene- not dumb but, ignorant vast difference. Knowledge is power I now know that having the right foundation sets the tone of how I feel.

"A bra is a fundamental piece of clothing for most women, yet probably
the one we spend the least time, energy, and money to get right. " Such a true statement.

I'm SO glad that you went for a fitting and had a good experience, Ledonna. AND that you found brilliant bras. It's very much worth the effort and money.

So glad you found what you needed. Congrats.
