I even think the color is not as versatile as chocolate or cognac. Hang in there.

It sounds like you've made your decision already (yay for sticking to your guns!).

One of the ways I stick to my budget is by writing out my shopping plan for the future; for example, I'm planning on buying a denim jacket around February of next year. For some people, that's too much planning -- but for my personality, I get a little "hit" by imagining that item is already in my possession (since I know I will stick to the schedule). I don't know whether you've got the same personality as me -- but that's one way I ease the sting of passing up an item.

Completely unrelated: I tried on that particular leather jacket at NAS and passed it up. 21" is quite cropped and, while the seaming helped, it's still quite boxy; the fit was horrible enough on this IT/hourglass that I didn't bother posting pics to YLF. The leather was lightweight and buttery smooth, which unintuitively made me less inclined towards it too: I wanted something with a little more heft.
