ETA - pics of the completed outfit. Thanks SO much for all the help! (Angie, I shaved the side of my hair like you suggested that I do between cuts.)

I'm a little stuck, partly because I kind of like all of the options, and partly because I am feeling a little insecure. We are going to a birthday party for a friend at an upscale bar/lounge tonight. From what I know of this group of people who are going, there will likely be lots of makeup and body-con dressing, I always enjoy their looks and it is very *them* so super fun, but at the same time very not me. My usual over the top eye makeup is not even close to "done" in this environment. I know what I want to wear - a new (to me) silk Sisley tunic. I tried it without the fleather leggings but I just can't do it. It is too short to be flattering enough on my legs. Now my problem is what clutch and shoes? The colors of my clutches aren't exaclty right but I think they all "go" in their own way, and I like things about both shoes... I would love to know what you all think!

I will do my makeup and iron the top while I await your consensus. And will update with the final look when it's all said and done. Thank you SO much for the help!

I like the lighter shoes and red clutch best. Agree that the leggings are the way to go. Beautiful dress!

i agree with Kari 100 %. And keep in mind: being comfortable in your own look is far sexier than trying to copy some major makeup/body con outfit look. You look classy, sexy and pretty in this outfit - and I bet your DH agrees. Go have a great time! Those other women will be checking you out wondering where you got that cool dress!

Thank you Ziochic and Kerlyn, and thanks so much for weighing in Angie! This has helped me to feel so much better and more confident, I will post the complete look before I go. The light shoes are clear winner, and while the clutch seems to be close to a tie, no matter the tally, Angie is the tie breaker. Sorry to the ones who prefer the green... It is still a dead tie in my own mind, actually. The red is more of a pinky red so it really does work well with the mauvey pink in the top...

I'm sure you'll be the best dressed and nicest person there, Sarah. A little red lippie to match the bag, and have a great time.

I used to go fairly often to those types of places 4-5 years ago and and they tend to be pretty dark, so tops and make up seem to be the most noticeable parts of your attire. Your tunic is a show stealer and just perfect for the occasion

I added photos of the completed look and we are on our way but we will be late to the party. There was a terrible accident that happened in an intersection while we were at the stop light. It was horrible. John stayed to give his statment. Both drivers seemed to be okay (surprisingly and thankfully!!). We are underway again and feeling a little shaky...
