Last year cognac seemed to start making a reappearance in retail, and I tried on one or two pairs of cognac boots when I saw them around, but they didn't work for me for various reasons (cheap leather, fit). But I'm still enamoured with the rich color and the possibilities for cognac boots.
I've been looking (just online, not available anywhere near me) at the ones pictured in my first Find below, and since I am getting rid of a bunch of my old, tired (or too high-heeled) tall boots, I've been wondering what, other than black, might be most useful for me.
Considering that my wardrobe is heavy on cool colors -- blues, teals, greens, grays, burgundys -- I'm wondering what your thoughts are on incorporating a pair of tall cognac boots into my style. I think the contrast could actually be a nice departure from how heavily I rely on black and grey. I have a cognac handbag I like, but I don't use it a lot because I feel like something else in my outfit should pick up that color.
It might just be that I'd need to try them on with potential outfits to see how it feels/looks. But I welcome any thoughts about this.
