It's a strictly South African tart THAT I LOVE!!! One of my favourite sweets to eat in the whole wide world.
I have the best recipe and will be making melktert on Saturday for when my Papa arrives in town (I usually make two or three a year). Dana, it must have a crust. Either puff or shortcrust. I make shortcrust.
The tert must be served cold and chilled in the fridge.
