Are you sure this isn't just plain too big?

In reference to my earlier question on oversize denim jackets. This is a R13 men's M purchased for $115 off Yoox. As always the fabric is divine, but is it just plain too big?

Hm, well IMO it does seem too big. I feel like the oversized ones I see are long and big in the body but have some slimness still in the shoulder and sleeve.

I agree with Rae. I wonder if scrunching/rolling the sleeves would help?

Not loving this but I'm not a fan of revisiting the look generally. I think I had this jacket in the 80s!

yeah, as the fluid trend comes in, i'm having a hard time finding the line between fluid and to big. this definitely has a 80's vibe.

I am not certain with the fluid trend, but to my eye, it reads too big.

From your other thread I loved the look that Anna pinned. The cross body under the jacket, the lower back hem of the high - low top, and the floaty layers of the skirt together provided some volume to balance out the oversized jacket. (I'm on my phone so can't link to it.) Your super toned legs are so sleek that the jacket looks overwhelming. Would it work with boyfriends and booties?

Frankly it's not big enough. Also I think because you bought a men's the proportions are not quite right. It looks like a men's jacket.

Yeah, I think it needs to be longer and the sleeves a bit slimmer. This is what I think of when I think of oversized denim jacket:

I'm afraid it's too big. I much prefer the one cciele showed (even though it appears that an animal has been chewing on the right sleeve. Sorry, but that amount of distressing doesn't appeal to me.)

ik, I think too big also.
This oversized thing is SO tricky. It has to be roomy in some places but not just big all over. Even fluid is like that. . In one way it's just like any "does it fit right" analysis but then there's the fun question of, did the retailer build that into the sizing so it IS big in the right way, or do we size up, or is the fit going to be off for that brand or item no matter what.

I really didn't buy this hoping to tap into the oversize trend. It just happens it's too big. I suppose I could have kept it and made my own trend, but since I like fitted denim jackets much more I'll leave that to someone else.
