I have a strong preference for #2 on you...there seems to be a somewhat wonky fit around the torso on #1, producing a vertical/diagonal fold around your Right upper-body area that distracts my eye from the otherwise lovely jacket. All the planes of the jacket are smooth on #2, which to me says that it fits better.

I returned everything except the moto in #1, which I'm still thinking on. (I know some of you liked the cleaner lines of #2, but it's really less "me.") Tomorrow, I'll try some things on to see how the color plays with burgundy, since it's such a big part of my wardrobe. That might be the deciding factor.

Firecracker, you're right to look on this as a major purchase. I expect my wardrobe numbers to go down, rather than up, over the next few seasons and, while I'm willing to pay for the right piece, I would rather buy one than spend an equal amount on three.

As an aside, when I returned the other jackets today, I tried on my first cold-shoulder top. I was surprised that I kind of liked it. I blame Brooklyn.

The cold shoulder top looks lovely on you!

And good idea to do more deliberation with the jacket. For a big ticket purchase you want to feel completely happy with it.

He he! The cold shoulder top looks fabulous on you! Did you buy it? Nice colour too.
I think the jacket colour will play very nicely with burgundy. And I am practically a burgundy expert, as you know

Welp, just tried on the jacket for my husband and he said, "Meh. It's okay." Hardly what I'm going for.

I showed him the cold shoulder too, to which he said, "I like that...and those tops are all the rage right now," which made me laugh. I'd want to size up for length and drape, but I might get one.

Funny what husbands pick up on-sounds like a cold shoulder top may find its way into your closet- and this color is so pretty! Grr on the jacket...

I like both, with a slight preference for the non-moto, especially in the pic with the black hat & dress--great fall outfit for you, with either jacket!
