I used to be easily swayed and it took me several years to finally realize that I have a definite preference for certain looks ON ME...and I had to just appreciate the other good looks on other people.

However, now that I've figured out what looks great on me and is also within my range of personal style/expression, I can spot a piece I must have a mile away! I went to Nordstrom the other day just to kill some time before a nearby appointment and realized I HAD to have that new gold T Tahari felt sheath dress...it's so PERFECT for my look and I'd get so much wear out of it! Now I've got to come up with the bucks for it...arrrgh!

I would say I'm not easily swayed, though I am starting to loosen up a little. I've been known to go back and look at something several times before pulling the trigger. YLF has influenced me to try new things, but it's still a rather slow process for me.

The term "polysartorial" gave me such a good chuckle and brought me out of hiding.

I have the opposite reaction of you, AG. I LOVE all styles on others, but I am really reticent to pull the trigger and try it. It took me 16 months to try the skinny pant/legging look.

I am at a point that I can look at something and know right away if I will wear it and if it suits my lifestyle. The downside is that I can be as stagnant as a mosquito infested pool of water........ewwwwww.

It helps when I imagine the outfit worn with an old-lady face and a head of white hair. If it's silly, I move on.

I've noticed... I'm blind when I actually go into stores and see clothes "live." There are only certain things I see. That's why all my clothes look the same.
