Hi Laura, thank you for going for all of this effort for me! You are too sweet!

I like them all, especially the first pair. However these are more-less tall knee-high boots, to tuck the skinnies in. I have some tall brown ( non-slouchy) boots that would work for that. What I was envisioning is a short pair - ankle boot, bootie, oxford, regular shoe, so that the pants go over them and you can see the whole pant length. The very first pair you posted from net-a-porter was shortish so I thought it might work for that. I am so sorry to be such a pain . I truly feel bad now

The cords look super Tanya! I think you can definitely get away with the smaller size, but after reading this thread, I get the feeling that you would feel more comfortable in the larger size (which still fits you perfectly in the picture, and taking in the waist won't be a problem, right?).

I actually vote for the red dress (can you wear this shade of red Tanya, just wondering, because I think for me it would be a bit too 'warm'). You look wonderful in the black one, but you already have the other tunic dress in black. And I really like the contrast of the black belt with the red, if anybody can get away with that, then it's you! Please try it?
It would look fabulous with black skinnies and a black turtleneck indeed. I want pics!!-)

Btw: I love those Gabriella Rocha shoes too. And both the DVF dresses, one for you and one for Ana;-)

And you girls are making me hungry. First a chocolate buffet and now Ana's brunch. Yum!!

Oh no, you're not a pain, I'm having fun surfing for boots!

Hi Tanya, I did a quick look but would either of these work? The heel on the first one might be a little too high.

All three items score 10! LOOOOOOVE the black top. It's edgy. I like that look on you. Love Laura65’s idea of scrunch boots. That would have been up my sleeve too

Thank you all so much! The idea od the scrunch booties is great. I have a very ignorant question: are the skinnies supposed to go inside or over those boots?

Elbyde, I really like those first ones. I'll try to find them in a store and see how comfy they are.

A good question. YES! Wear the boots over skinny or straight jeans. This was “THE” look in London last year which is when I got my cream slouchy calf-length boots. There is no stopping this look this season. I prefer to wear straight leg jeans with them because I have chicken legs and the excess fabric of the straight leg makes my calves look wider in the slouchy boot. Skinnies work well for lasses with wider calves. Does that make sense?

That makes complete sense Angie! Thank you so much! I am too a member of the chicken calf-brigade so I guess I need straighter legs as well. Hopefully these cream cords are straight enough.

One more question regarding this look: what's the best height for the scrunchy boots so that the leg line looks as long as possible? Apart from knee-high of course.

Hmmm. My straight legs are 13 to 14 inch at the hem, and my skinnies are about 11.5 if that helps.

Loads of variables Tanya – it depends how the boots slouch. Mine have half cuffs that fold over with ties and cover the skinniest part of my lower leg. Experiment!

Thanks Angie! The cords are 13.5" so that would make them straight. I'll experiment with boots as you suggest! Once I buy the cords I'll go to a store with a lot of boot options while wearing the cords, try a bunch of boots and see.

Exciting! I see grey calf-length slouchy boots in your future. What was your thinking?

I was thinking more of a camel color originally, but once you mentioned grey I realized it would probably be better match with my fall wardrobe colors. I'll be on the hunt soon. Thank you for the wonderful idea!

Yes! I vote for grey.

Yay! I am so excited you are checking out slouchy boots - we children of the 80s (well the 70s too, but fashion-wise I am in a witness protection program regarding that decade) LOVE slouchy boots with skinnies! I can't wait to see photos!

I know, Laura! The “youth” of this forum are going through their FIRST skinny and slouchy boot look. Bless it

Tanya, have you found cream ankle boots yet?

I noticed these:

Tanya, I just found the same Steve Madden boots for $80 on Smart Bargain. Not sure if they have your size...

Tanya, I am going to be living vicariously through you about these slouchy boots with tucked cords/jeans. It's too warm here to justify a bunch of boots :(. I can't wait to see the pictures. I also love all the things you tried at ArdenB. I'd stick with the black tunic too.

Thank you for finding these Nicole! Someone else already posted them but silly me hasn't noticed that they come in grey too. The grey ones look great! I might try them out. I hope that the heel will be OK, I usually stay away from any non-wedge heels . SB does indeed have my size. You are so sweet.

Angie, it is quite a compliment to consider me youth at my 30 years of age ! I would consider Maya and Shell and Ana youth!

Thank you for your input Patience! I am very excited about the prospect too.

Would these fall into the scrunchy boot category? Or they are not scrunchy enough? I am obviously very attracted to the low wedge heel, and they come in grey.

Ha, Patience. I'm wearing boots today anyway. Justification or not. ::grin::

Tanya, I'm only 2 years younger than you are.

Hmm, Ana I thought you were 4 years younger! I'll be 31 next month!

Tanya, I do think those boots fall into the slouchy category, and I prefer them to the Steve Maddens. (I did not read the whole thread and did not check everyone's links so I didn't realize the had already been recommended).

My only hesitation with those other boots you found is that they are suede. We both know what happens to suede in Boston in the winter

If you are in your 20's or early 30's - you are "youth" on this forum

They are sort of slouchy, Tanya. Nice! But if they are not waterproof suede, you’ve sort of had it in Winter. We’re in the same boat in Seattle.

Thanks for getting some common sense into my brain Nicole & Angie! You are absolutely right about suede and Boston weather. They are certainly not waterproof, so I am not considering them anymore.

Tanya, I'll be 28 next month! Maybe I'm 3 years younger then. Yay, I can subtract! That's why I'm a math major.

It looks to me that your subtraction skills are great Ana Well chosen major indeed. I guess you are just an year older than my baby brother. I still think of that as very young. Anyone in their 20's is very young to me now.
