If anyone with a slightly shorter calf has tried these on, could you please give me intel?

I'm 5'4 but my calves are disproportionately short (about 14.5" or 15" -- ETA actually 15.5 to the knee) So I fear they will not work on me. But I am tempted. I don't want to bother ordering if it's a complete waste of time, though.

Height says 16" shaft height, but that measurement is often inaccurate, I have found. My shoe size is 6.5/ 7. I typically order a 7 in boots to accommodate a thicker sock.

Thistle, that's right. They'd be workhorses for me.

But I do need to check that height. For some people, with these stretchy boots -- the width of their calf helps take care of some of the length, if that makes sense. The stretching that the boot does makes it snugger and thus a tad shorter. But my calves are also not wide. So the boot won't stretch much, if at all -- which means it will be at its full height on my leg. We saw the difference a few years ago when both Shannon and Kellygirl ordered the same Blondo stretch boot. Both are petite -- but the boot worked brilliantly on Shannon and not so well on Kelly. It wasn't just the length of their calves. It also had to do with calf/ ankle width.

Hmmm. Saw them on people my height, taller and 5ft 2. Mine were dead right in a size 6.5 - TTS. I think you should try them.

I think your calf measurement is 13.5? That should work.

Thank you, Angie! And wow, what a memory. Yes, my calf measurement is about 13.5 (though I should check it!). I'll also measure my calf height again.

The boots measure 15.5" from the upper border of the heel, and 12.25" in height from right above the ornamental strap at the ankle. I measured from the back of the boot.
The boots are comfy but are probably best for thinner calves, I think you may like them.
Let me know if you need me to measure anything else.

Joyce, you are a STAR.

Suz, your slightly wider calf will make the boot fall shorter on your leg - which is just what you need. They actually worked on my long legged 5ft 2 client - but the calves were too narrow.

Smittie, I'm not sure. Here's the issue....Blondos are sometimes not a great fit on me. I really feel like I need a boot like the Blondo for hacking around...and maybe don't strictly need the Aquatalia.

But tall boots that work for me are a HEWI and I have been wanting a flat riding style boot. My current black boots have a 2 inch heel and are snug at the ankle so a different style. It's a great style, and I love it -- it works for wearing with skirts and cropped pants -- but it's not as good with tucked in slim pants.

Ideally, I'd be trying both on and comparing before ordering up a storm. I'm in TO briefly next week and hope to see something in person.

I like these Aquatalia's too. And the Blondo's! It's making me nuts that I can't see any of these prices though. Apparently you can't even order and pay at full price if you wanted to . Have you looked at The Bay or Brown's to see if these are listed there yet? I'm curious if there is a price advantage .....

I haven't looked yet, Lisa. I'm sure the Blondos will be comparable in CAD and may just look around in the fall -- it's just nice to have something ready before the bad weather hits. The Aquatalias will be a better deal at the sale price for sure.

The description says the boot shaft is 15.5" and the calf circumference is 14". They fit me perfectly in a size 6.5. I am 5'2" and have thin calves (i don't know the measurement, but most knee high boots are too large in the calf for me). I think you should give them a try!

Suz - very brief msg, just to tell you that I bought these boots last night -Yorkdale store. GORGEOUS! It gets even better - 398.00 CDN (pre tax) - so better price here for our dollar. I am 12.75-13" calf diameter, shorter legs, long torso . I did find them a little roomy around the back of the ankle - but am going to try them on with winter weight socks. Size 7 worked beautifully.

I tried them on yesterday and they are gorgeous . I didn't buy as I have a very similar pair by Via Spiga. My calves at their widest are 13 inches and these boots fit me, they weren't tight I could certainly have fit a jean in them. I purchased a pair of Blondo OTK boots that I am now wondering if I am too old to wear ! I will do a seperate post about them.

Here's hoping these boots work for you, Suz...and that if they do, you're never in the position of testing them the way you did a previous pair of Aquitalias. Was that 8 hours wading through slush then 3 standing in hip-deep quick-moving below-zero water because your daughter needed you urgently? My memory exaggerates, but only slightly!
