So my color palette is more muted and I only did print in the tops, so there’s no ‘two piece dress’ opportunity like there is in the original. I replaced the skirt with another pair of pants and didn’t include a dress, since I only really wear skirts and dresses in the summer these days. I was aiming for a ‘cool early spring’ weight with this capsule. Since I didn’t include the dress, I can only do 24 of the original 30 outfit combinations, but I also found a few more that work.
I just couldn't face doing on-body photos today, so I tried to do some half-decent flat-lays.
Featuring the taupe tee:
1)+denim moto+gray chinos
2)+violet cardigan+gray chinos - not sure about the cardigan plus this tee together, the colors are...less vibrant than what's showing on most of the pictures but it's still kinda busy
3)+gray moto+dark wash jeans
4)+cream cardigan+cropped jeans
5)+violet cardigan+blue chinos
Additional combos with the taupe tee not from the inspiration capsule that I think work well:
6)+cream cardigan+dark wash jeans
7)+cropped jeans+violet cardigan
8)+violet cardigan+dark wash jeans
9)+gray chinos+gray cardigan - I'm not sure about the two grays together but I think they're different enough in texture and color to work
Featuring the striped Breton top:
10) violet cardigan+gray chinos
11)gray cardigan+gray chinos
12)gray moto+dark wash jeans
cream cardigan+cropped jeans - didn’t take a pic of this one, I don’t like how the two different creams look together
13)blue moto+blue chinos
Additional combos with the striped tee that I think would work well:
14)violet caridgan+blue chinos
15)dark wash jeans+gray cardigan
16)gray chinos+moto
