Sihaya, the cream coat you got (for $58! I still can't get over that) is Tulles. It looked PERFECT on you. Check out their collection at http://www.tulle4us.com/, they have some very fun things, and some local boutiques carry them.

Ok, I think I'll give the booties a try. I'll order them online so I can take my time trying them out at home. I'm still not convinced that bootie and skirt is going to be a new look for me, but I'm open to at least try it out. And I definitely look forward to blog posts about it and pictures from others!

Antje: I love the colored cardigan. So pretty and the fit is super. The Semantiks jacket looks great on you -- I bought the very same suit. The flare on the back of the jacket and skirt really make it flirty, don't you think? It gives me some curves I don't really have. Was thinking of wearing it with a purple or burgundy bag or shoes. What will you wear with yours?

Hi Kyle, love that you bought the whole suit. Patience got the skirt, so between me and her we have the suit, too
I do love the flare on the back of the jacket, it's really the funnest part (that and the leather piping.) I was thinking that fuchsia will be great under the jacket; I'm hoping to get a fuchsia blouse with ruffles or a tie. I think you're also totally right on with purple and burgundy; they just aren't my colors.
But I think a lot of colors will work with the jacket/skirt, including probably a mustard yellow (again not a good color for me, though), and light/bright blues. We shall experiment, right?

Antje and Sihaya, I think I know which cream jacket you're talking about! Does it have sort of a funnel neck and is double breasted? If so, I love that jacket! The corduroy is a little casual for me personally, but the shape and the neckline and the color are awesome! Are you going to try wearing the grey wedges and jacket together, Sihaya?

Hmm.....no, let me see if I can find it on the Nordstrom website. This might be a great jacket for you too, Tanya....

Okay, I can't find it online. I think it's this one, but it was cream, which they don't have online:

The one you linked too is lovely Ana, but I thought that Antje mentioned that it was by Tulle. Anyway, doesn't really matter, I really like the one you linked too, but that's not my color for sure .

Yeah, now I think maybe I didn't see the one they were talking about, if it's the one you posted above.

It's too bad the bus doesn't go out to Nordie's where you live. I did see the booties you bought though, they look neat--very interesting. Sort of brushed and textural.

Is this the coat?

I saw it on the site and was wondering about it too.

Antje, both jackets look great on you! And I like your glasses a lot! Makes me want to get more adventurous with mine.

Well, I am sorry too, but nothing I can do about it I hope I'll like the grey oxfords in reality.

Oh, and thanks for thinking about me with the purple bag. I posted a more detailed response on that thread, but it basically says that I really like the bag and that you are so sweet

I read that--you're welcome! When I saw the bag, I said, "OMG, Patience look at this bag--doesn't this look like Tanya? I could totally see her walking into the lab with this," and Patience agreed.

Purple is definitely not my color, but I'm excited to see it playing a bigger role this fall, because it looks really stellar on you! Do you think you'll try that purple Target Botkier bag? You definitely need a purple bag!

I agree with you, a purple bag is definitely on my list! I like the Target Botkier one, but it's more of dark pink. I like the color of the one you showed me much better. So I think I'll try to hunt at discount places for such color in real leather.

Marianne linked to the right coat (the one Sihaya bought). We liked all of their colors, but in the end the cream one looked the most stylish on Sihaya. It's super. http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/29.....38&P=1

I tried the fuchsia one, but it didn't fit right on me (the sleeves were too long, and since there is sleeve detail I wasn't open to factoring in alteration.)

For anyone who's considering the Tulle coat, note that they run quite small. I'm almost always a medium in coats (occasionally a small) but I would need the large in the Tulle coats in order to fit a sweater or cardi underneath. Sihaya is between XS and S and went with the S which wasn't a bit too big.

That's correct - Marianne's link that is. The other jacket looks interesting and is my style but rarely do double breasted things work for me. This is a full winter coat.

Ana - thanks, great idea to wear it with the MeToo gray pumps. I will definitely give that a try.

I went back to Nordstrom with 45 minutes minus kids to shop and picked up a few things. I bought both the Semantics skirt and trousers. I need one more pair of work trousers but thought the skirt looked cute too and would go well with boots in the winter. Anyone have thoughts on which to keep or to keep both? The sale price was great. I also bought a cute casual winter jacket. I can't find a picture of it online and will post once I get into picture taking and posting mode. It's off white with black patterns.

Sounds fab! And I get to see it ALL tomorrow

Oh super, Sihaya, I'm thrilled. Now we're skirt twins (Let's just make sure we never ever wear them at the same time in the same place, ha!) If you need a pair of work pants but love the skirt, then I'd totally keep both.
