I haven't been around much lately, but wanted to share with you that after many tears I let my girlie pug go yesterday. She was about 14, around the same age as the 'big man' we lost in June. They were both adopted from the same rescue.

She experienced a rapid decline over the past couple of weeks, which we initially thought was worsening arthritis. The veterinarian took an X-ray and felt it was osteosarcoma - which couldn't be definitively diagnosed without a biopsy. Within a matter of days it took a Herculean effort for her to stand - let alone walk - and she basically declined to the point of immobility. In August she was also diagnosed with worsening kidney function.

The little dolly was still alert, sweet and always willing to eat - a true pug to the very end. it was such a hard decision and I am so sad. The house and my heart feel so empty.
