Interesting topic, Joy, thanks! In the PNW where I grew we wore the same clothes year round since it's temperate and wet so often. It might've been a good idea to wear different colors for a mood boost though. When I visit DE, I always feel like I'm wearing the wrong colors and fabrics for that light and humidity and heat. In CO, there really are different seasons, and I'm still getting used to that and the very bright sunlight. I'll have to ponder more on what colors would look best in what season here. I do know I'm craving peachy pink and coral shades for summer though.

I did a 50-item fall capsule wardrobe a few years ago, and had some olive-colored pieces that I wound up swapping out. They looked great in August, but by the end of September, they looked dusty and sad.

It's also why, despite the "white is okay after Labor Day", I'm not usually drawn to white bottoms or shoes in the fall. It looks harsh to me, in the autumn light.

So many great thoughts. I had not thought of the light's affect on makeup, but will consider it now. La Belle, I didn't think of it before, but olive can be a problem for me also. I seem most drawn to it in summer abs wear it with brights like cobalt or orange or tomato red.
Columbine, I am still getting used to the sunlight. Although I am used to definite seasons and sunlight, this is different, but hard to explain. The light is more pure and unfiltered by humidity and dust, like the sunshine after a rainstorm.
