This is the dress that Suz pointed me in the direction of (thanks, Boston roomie!) on my post about choosing a dress for an upcoming wedding DH and I are going to.
Well, I very much enjoy sewing and making an entire garment, but I absolutely hate to do alterations. The excess fabric needed to be taken out of the bodice from the underarm area down to the waist. A simple alteration really - and one that I have to do often (curses to being small busted) - except this dress is fully lined, thereby making doing the alterations a pain in the patootie. I hope it meets with your approval (fingers and toes crossed, even my surgery toe).
Next up, shoe choice! I decided on gray shoes (the dress is listed as navy/cream, but it is really gray/cream), and I'm down to two choices. I prefer one, DH prefers the other. The pair on the left is matte with a small heel, the pair on the right is sparkly with a wedge heel. What say you? I was thinking of wearing off-white close-toed shoes, but my shrug for when it gets cooler is black, so I thought gray would look better.
I was thinking of wearing a statement necklace, but the only two I have two - one red, one black. Not really sure if I want to add a necklace or not.
And please excuse my hair - I got caught in some pre-thunderstorm wild wind while on a field trip with the second graders to the NYS museum.
