Accidental NAS - YouLookFab Forum

I had absolutely no plans to go to Nordstrom, but late this afternoon I had no urgent things to finish and couldn't concentrate, so off I went to the mall. It was busy but not crazy busy, although I'm sure later in the evening and this weekend it will be that way. I ended up getting only one thing on anniversary sale, but three things total:

Bobeau cardigan in violet - IRL the purple is deeper. I've worn the blue one I got last fall (similar, not identical cut) a ton so I am thinking of duplicating in black too - they were out of my size in the store

Sejour ponte knit skirt - is Sejour a new Nordstrom line for plus? Everything they had in that brand was really lovely, but this was the only piece I couldn't live without. I should cull a black skirt or two to make room. It's pretty long, too; I'll probably hem it a touch, so heads-up to any tall pluses.

Sejour knit top - I got it in a dark pink, which isn't online; just a nice basic knit top on clearance, and with a nice longer length which I appreciate

As I was leaving I took a gander at the shoes - I was tired and the dept was busy so I didn't try anything on, but I am considering:

Born flat - probably in the cream/tan as I need a neutral flat

Report ankle boots - I need new black short boots but these may be too casual

Miz Mooz Felicity pumps - I should upgrade my basic black pumps so these are tempting

Thoughts? Anyone tried any of the shoes?

I haven't seen or tried on any of these items, but it looks like you got some great basics. I love the Miz Mooz pumps. I agree the Report boots are casual, if you need something dressier, keep looking. These would work well with jeans.

I love the sound of your new cardigan in the violet colour, Laura! The skirt and top look like good basics too.

I really like the Born flat and the Miz Mooz pumps. The report ankle boots are cute too. When and how do you want to wear them?

I am thinking you are right about the boots, Coco - I could wear them with jeans but I'd rather get a pair that I can wear with both jeans and trousers.

Inge, I may see if I can convince my DH to go shopping this weekend (or sneak off? heh).

I forgot to mention before that I tried on the Jag ski pants; they were really nice but just a titch short on me. If you are looking for slim knit pants that are sturdier than leggings, these are a good option and at a good price for NAS.

I like what you chose (those Bobeau tops are soooo soft) Another vote for try on all the shoes to see what fits comfortably. Thanks for sharing those Jag pants, I might have to look for those.

These are lovely picks! Just a word of caution on the flats - I have last year's Adele's, and they are SUPER comfy. I ordered the ones you linked to, and they run small, and didn't seem like they'd be as comfy as last year's, so I didn't bother trying the larger size. I still might though, but I was so disappointed that the style had changed to be less comfortable, that I gave up for the time being. The neutral color is quite lovely.

Sejour replaced Caslon/Halogen for Encore! It's a Nordstrom brand. Some nice pieces for sure. I haven't tried that skirt but I looked at the houndstooth version and it's quite nice.

I have one of those Bobeau cardigans and they're lovely! They wash and wear well too.

Tee hee for not planning to shop and then coming away with great items. The colours are lovely. I'd go try the shoes on, you never know what will fit your feet beautifully.

Sarah, thanks for the feedback on the flats. If they run small I may be SOL because I wear a 10 sometimes shading into a 10.5 and I don't think they have 10.5s.

Marianna, the houndstooth skirt is the exact same cut as the black ponte skirt - I tried it on and it fit great but it just didn't seem like my style. I assumed Sejour was the new Nordstrom house brand for plus; glad to hear I'm not nuts (or frightened that I notice these things, not sure).

You scored! Thank you for pointing out the Jag pants. They remind me of my beloved BR Martin skinnies and I could use the charcoal color.

Joy, also check out the Michael Michael Kors ponte skinnies - I tried them on today and they were great but again too short for me. They were on sale for NAS too I believe.

Update on the shoes: I got to the other local N's this afternoon, but they didn't have my size in the flats, and didn't even have the Miz Mooz on the floor. It looks like they still have them online, though. I found another pair of Born neutral flats which I actually liked the look of better, but of course they didn't have them in my size nor were they on sale. I may order them and the heels online and see if I like them.

I did end up getting a few more clothing pieces today - I hope to take pics in a few minutes of everything so will post again after I do so.

Ugh, the pictures I took are really bad, with the late afternoon light shining in the window in a distracting way. Will try again tomorrow.

Here's what I got today:
Amber Sun mesh knit top in b/w print, can't find online
Olivia Moon casual knit dolman top in green and gray, ditto

And here's what I had them order because they didn't have my size:
Foxcroft pintuck shirt in purple
Amber Sun cowl-neck tank in cream and black, again can't find online

I tried on the Amber Sun pencil skirt in a tweedy b/w, and it was really nice and fit well - just too short for me. This Amber Sun knit jacket was really nice too, with welt pockets and sweater-knit revers. Both are NAS sale priced.
