Oh, beware and take care - I'm sorry to hear that you have a sore arm. Have you tried stretching out the muscles in your lower arm? It might help: Bend your wrists upwards & backwards with open hands, slow movements. Repeat several times. I hope you will feel better soon! Tea and comfyness helps, too:)

Sending healing vibes your way Angie!

Yikes! I have had similar problems and acupuncture helped tremendously. I have great certainty that you will feel better very soon, and you will be missed until then.

More healing vibes coming your way.........take care.

Take care of your arm and feel better soon.

Hope you feel better, well rested and refreshed soon.

Sending healing thoughts and prayers - rest up dear Angie!

Wishing you all the patience you will need to keep yourself still so you can heal.

Hugs to you, Angie - rest up that arm and take care of yourself!

Angie, I'm sorry to hear your arm is bothering you. I am sending cyber healing vibes your way and my pugs are sending cyber snuggles.

Angie, don't you worry about a thing other than taking care of you to the best of your ability. I'm glad to hear healing yourself is top priority, as it absolutely should be. I hope Greg and Rosie spoil you rotten while you're recuperating. As for me, I'm sending hugs, virtual pots of tea and a flourless chocolate cake...and I'd send the real thing if I could.

Hope you get well soon! You will be missed but I completely understand the need to lay off the typing. I've had bouts with carpal tunnel so I know.

Dear Angie - I saw your note about this on Suz's thread and of course we understand. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Angie, hugs and healing thoughts headed your way--hope your arm feels better soon! I agree with Rita, look into Dragon or some other dictation software for your blog posts. Or ask for some guest posts from other YLF'ers while you're recovering!

Angie I'm sorry to hear about that. I will be sending healing energy. Take care:)

Please rest your arm! You will be missed terribly, but you have your priorities in order.

Ouch! Hope that it lets up soon, and not only for the selfish reason of enjoying hearing from you.

I prescribe tea (held with the other arm to give you a break) and cuddle time with Rosie.

(Do you have Siri on your iPhone? It's definitely imperfect, but when my wrists and fingers were very sore from typing I responded to some blog & forum posts by dictating to my iPhone and correcting only as needed. It took longer but saved me some aches and pains. Just an idea for when you're on the mend but are still needing to baby your arm.)

Angie, I feel your pain and have had RSI for years. But I'm keeping it under control which is admirable considering the enormous amount of computer work I do. By coincidence (as I only saw this thread now) I wrote about it on my blog today and it's all about how I prevent and treat my RSI. http://40plusstyle.com/how-to-.....treat-rsi/ Perhaps there are some tips there that you can use? Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions on this!

Feel better soon Angie! Hugs!!!

Angie, Modgrl has a very good idea about the voice software. I did permanent damage to the nerves in both hands by over using them. I now use Dragon Naturally Speaking for home and work. I also use a foot mouse. Actually the footmouse helps me the most because there is no clicking for my hands. Here are their sites.

They also have it for Iphone and other pieces of equipment.

If you want more detailed information, contact me. I have been using Dragon and the foot mouse since 2000 and am used at work as the assistive technology expert.

Thanks for letting us know, and I do hope you recover quickly Angie! *hugs and tea*

Poor arm and dainty little hands! I hope you will take your time resting your injury, Angie. Ice for the arm and tea and cake as comfort food!

Oy! Take care of yourself, Angie. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yikes! Well, you're doing basically the best you can for your poor wrists by resting them -- best wishes for a speedy recovery!

It's worth mentioning that RSI is a chronic issue and you can still be doing damage even when it hasn't hit (or just recently dropped below) the pain threshold. Don't jump back on the forum as soon as the pain goes away!

So sorry to hear that you are having health issues flare up again and hope you enjoy your forced partial vacation.

Hope you can give your arm lots & lots of rest. I'm sure you and Greg are already doing this, but it's important to set up your computer area as ergonomically as possible so your wrists can be in a neutral position as you type. Wishing you lots of restorative tea & cookies.

Oh, Angie, I just saw Suz's comment about you being on the mend and then I found this post. I have been away too long and sometimes I feel like we're related as I had a severe repetitive strain injury from the computer a number of years ago and it can be quite aggravating. Mine was in the ulnar nerve. One recommendation by the medical community, is to sleep with your arms straight and not bent, if you can. To this day, I still tuck them between my legs to keep them in a straightened position. Also, using Dragon Dictation app on your phone and at home will help eliminate a few keystrokes. Hope you feel better soon! Emil Pascarelli, M.D. has a wonderful book on the subject and is the definitive source when it comes to that subject. http://www.amazon.com/Repetiti.....0471595330

Worth a read or browsing at your local library. Fell better soon! Hugs!!

Angie - hope you are mending. I strained my arm this week as well picking up a box. Searing pain up my entire forearm. Vicki's recommendations are good, but I find no matter how I try my arm gets wrapped around my head in the night. Greg can get you fixed with voice recognition s/w I'm sure.

Angie, RSI is awful and you musts look after yourself:). Missing you but of course understand your health and well being must come first. Your in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Please take care, Angie, and rest your arm! Sending you lots of love and well wishes. xo
