About those sneakers...

I'm just reading Angie's blog post about the more affordable sneaker options and I'm loving it! Up until very recently (last summer) I didn't own a pair of sneakers! Now I'm seeing how cute and versatile they can be.

I think in the taupe? I like the black with studs but wonder how practical they would be in the summer. Which of those styles do you think would be most versatile for the summer?

Black is never out of fashion and if you are going to go for a Taupe shoe, this one isn't one I would pick in taupe because the cream lines seem to disturb the look.

I was thinking about the other colors/styles this shoe comes in as well. I guess I feel like maybe black is too heavy and dark for summer. Maybe I'm wrong.

Look for a taupe - greyish beige. There are knockoffs of the Ash bowies everywhere.

I like the taupe ones and the navy/white ones. I agree that black might be a little heavy for a North Carolina summer. It might work in NYC though!

I think black always works in NYC! Like Zap said, there are knockoffs everywhere so look around for the one you like best. Several of the ones Angie had in her boat had hundreds of great reviews and weren't too much more than the Target ones. I am learning that Angie recommendations usually rock.

I like a couple of the taupe ones Angie posted. You should click on the links even if they are black, because there are other color options for many of them.

I have a pair of wedge sneakers in black and they are super versatile. I expect to wear them through the spring and summer. It is strange though, because I have a bit of a poison eye for flat black sneakers in general. The wedge gives them a different look I think. But I'm now considering adding a taupe pair because I like them more than anticipated. So I don't think you could go wrong with either colour.

Jenny, are you still blonde? I'd go with a lighter color to bookend your hair, and also if you plan on wearing these with shorts/capris/skirts in the summer. I just find black against bare skin kind of blocky-looking, especially for the fair-complected. But it's all in the styling and the actual shoe, of course
