Hear hear, Melissa! New clothes can be just as gross as thrifted clothes, and you paid retail for that bacteria instead of $5! LOL. Although I don't mind when people are grossed out by thrifting, since it just leaves more great stuff for me. =oD

Yes, this is one of the reasons I prefer consignment shopping to thrift stores (the other one being that I just don't have the patience to find treasures in thrift stores, and I have better luck with consignment). I've never had problems with consignment stuff, and one of the consignment stores near me even has a sign that says something like "Please don't shop here if you're sick -- we have many elderly clients, and we don't want them to catch something"!
