I'm in Portland and my hotel is two blocks away from Nordstrom so I killed a little time and indulged my curiosity in the Wit jeans. They look horrible on me. They're very stretchy and accommodate my thick thighs, BUT that stretch also means that they suck back in and cling to my knees and calves, while the slit legs sort of flare out. It's just not a flattering look on me. Oh well. I'm sure they'll look great on slimmer-legged ladies!

But I spotted this Hinge scarf, and have to say it wowed me in person more than online. The fabric is really nice, and the pattern is lovely. I only brought one scarf with me on this trip, so I decided to buy this one. So much for having enough scarves already!

No such thing as too many scarves! And especially fun when you buy the scarf on a trip! Enjoy!

Janet - that scarf does look pretty. I have noticed that I am attracted differently to things online vs in store. In part because you can see and touch the fabric, and I think sometimes even the model or styling can steer you to or away from something online.

Janet, if it is any consolation, just looking at the *photo* of those jeans, on the model -- and I knew they'd do exactly what you describe on me and be super unflattering.

But the scarf is gorgeous! Did you see the blue version, too? If so, which one do you think I might like best? Because there is no such thing as too many scarves.

I wanted to try those jeans but they are sold out in my size. I love Wit & Wisdom jeans, though not every style works for me. I.e., some are cut differently than others. Yes I've got slim legs -- so these might work for me. You might like some of the other styles instead. I can't remember now which I tried before except they were dark wash styles. And they were built for gals with more hips and thighs than I have.

Hmm.. maybe the "ab solution" is intended for apple shapes with slim legs? I think the other styles I tried before were not "ab solutions."

I tried on a few W&W jeans at my first NAS a couple of years ago. I had the same experience with the "too stretchy" fabric. Glad to hear your report on the scarf!

Onwards on the jeans. The scarf looks nice in the picture but I can imagine how it might look even nicer in person. The colours look just right for you.

I bought the scarf too, and it's very luxe. Jeans are very hit or miss for me. Mostly miss.

I have a hard time with jeans. I tried one pair of the W&W in the store and were tight at my calves although they are on the smaller side.

It's funny, because I was very attracted to her he scarf on line, saw it in the store, and lived the scarf, but realized the fringey things were to much for me. Actually though about getting alterations to remove them- lol.

I ordered a pair of W&W jeans last NAS. I couldn't get those suckers off of me fast enough! They were skinny Ab Solutions. I still had the vision of those jeans in my mind when I tried on these. The split release hems fit great and were flattering. I was pretty shocked to say the least. FWIW, I have never been accused of having thin thighs or a too small booty on an hourglass build. I guess it just goes to show, you never know til you try things on!

Janet, I feel I'm in good company with you; Wit and Wisdom have looked pretty terrible on me, too, in the past, though I didn't try this style. I'm happy you have a beautiful scarf to bring back home with you--a souvenir of the Nordie's sale in Portland! I really like the moody colors in the scarf.

I don't think the jeans would work on me either Janet - I don't usually go for super stretchy when it comes to jeans. The scarf is beautiful! I love buying something useful to bring home when I'm on a trip.

Gorgeous scarf, I will probably end up buying it in navy. As for the jeans, you look so good in most jeans that there is no need to settle for something subpar. I am sure that something similar looking but much better fitting will show up soon.
