The skirt itself is lame; I need a better black skirt. I'm thinking it's too wide a gap for skirts? But love the look in the bootcuts.

Honestly my toes are not pitched forward and cramping at all in these. If there's an issue, it's with the back, and I think it's aesthetic rather than functional. And inserts would probably help to stabilize.

Still listening to considered opinions--still open to returning though I'm more closing in on K at the moment. Thx again!

Love them both ways, which is saying a lot as I usually can't wrap my head around booties with skirts (!), but still find the gaping distracting. Sorry.

I think these boots are stunning and can really see them working with your style. How do they feel when you stride in them? Do they slide at all? If they are honestly comfortable and fit fine, then I say keep.

I have little tolerance for booties that gape at the ankle with skirts and dresses. But I like the booties with the pants. That looks great.

I love them with the bootcuts, but I have similar tolerance levels to gaps as Angie, so I'm not as fond of them with the skirt.

Sorry, I just don't think they look as if they fit. But if they are comfy for you and you think you are okay holding them just for pants, then why not.

I think you have the wrong size. Go one size down. It looks as if you have a lot of space in the back, much more than just an ankle gaping issue and you mentioned you went a size up from your usual size, did I get that wrong?

Zap, unfortunately they didn't have my size in an 8.5 or a 9. So I went with 9.5. That shouldn't affect the bootie's opening anyway, should it? Here's a pic from online. It's very streamlined:

I am just wondering if this is defective, or they figure that women sized 9.5 have elephant ankles. I honestly don't have the daintiest ankles myself. And of course, it could have been photoshopped. But why make it so gaping in the first place?

No mochi, I think it does affect the opening. In a more expensive shoe, all of the measurements are adjusted exponentially. For example, heel heights are higher as the size increases. Miista is a Euro brand, right? Yep, I think it would vary at least a little bit. I saw all sizes available at Shopbob just now.

Great booties. Love with the pants, but the gap is very distracting with a skirt. Maybe a smaller size would help with the gap issue

The size of the shoe affects the gap at the ankle because your foot slides forward as you walk. That is what makes them flush against the front of your ankle and gap at the back instead of having an even gap the the way 'round.
