Jenni, I see you’ve taken the trousers back. I was going to suggest they might need some taking in around the legs. They look too big in #4, but much better in # 7, so it could just be the camera angle. If you are not sure, it’s probably better to err on the side of caution. But you can do this look so don’t give up. It’s a nice change from long over lean.
Jenni, just a thought. Another way to do this look would be with a flared corduroy skirt. I think skirts are usually an easier fit than pants (part of the reason why I like them). Both these types of style could work well with your top and give a similar vibe to the pants. Would look great with boots. The first is a random google image - it has the pleats that you like. The second one is from Australian retailer Karma East.

Oh wow Brooklyn I like the first one! When I was 23 I had a beautiful dark red corduroy skirt which I wore with a white blouse. Don’t think I have a photo.
I find my skirts languish in the wardrobe in favour of pants though. But could keep an eye out. Thanks!
“ Is going back to styles you loved in your 20s, when you are 60, a good or bad idea? ”
You know my answer to that! I wear actual items from my 30s in my 50s all the time.
