What to wear to a 50th high school reunion in the midatlantic region in June? I can rule out tiered or flounced or pleated or drop-waist skirts, which make me look dumpy. Same with white pants, a mistake I've made over and over. (Whenever I see photos of me wearing them, I find I look especially bottom-heavy.) I’m 5’4”, a bit of a pear, basically a size six with narrow shoulders. I’m too short to wear anything maxi. Could probably handle midi. Bunions have made shoes a huge challenge, though shoes have been a life-long challenge for me. (Gosh, what a NEGATIVE post! Sorry!) The event will be held at a hotel (with A/C), but this is not a formal event. I don’t think I even need to wear “cocktail attire.” I tend to look best in something waist defining. I’m fussy about fabrics — prefer cotton or linen for summer. I’m not a fan of synthetics…too hot. Thinking about this dress from Dillards because of the color and the cotton fabric —not sure about the enormous bow from the sash though. Would truly appreciate your sage advice! Many TIA!
