2017 Presale starts July 13

I was just in Nordstrom talking with my regular saleswoman, and she told me presale starts July 13. (I don't know if there's even earlier access for higher tier members.) I made an appointment for the first day. She only had two appointments booked so far, but I figured since I was there....

And, summer still hasn't even arrived in Portland!

Actually, it starts on July 12th - Level #4 cardholders.

I received my catalog a week or so ago and enjoying browsing thru it, but I know from past experience the best is yet to come, when Angie post her selections.

Here is how I predict it will go with me: I will order whatever grabs my attention at first. By the time the next batch comes out I will have had time to consider and re-consider. Then I will order the things I need or like a lot from 2nd batch and return some from the first batch, etc, etc,. Let the fun and games, and finally, irritation with myself, begin!:)

I did my big summer shopping right around the solstice and haven't even worn all my items! I know I want tall boots for winter (because I remember not having them last winter), but aside from that I just can't fathom the whole idea. There's also the budget issue...I figured winter shopping would happen six months after summer shopping, not six weeks!

But I probably will go. I've never gone, and actually was only vaguely aware of it, despite the fact that as a cardholder I must have received advertising over the years. Yall's enthusiasm has got to me, and I know I could use pullovers, jackets and leggings, anyway.

But still...July!

I have an appointment on Thursday afternoon, but I'm always so conflicted about taking up a salesperson's time. I really just want to browse, and my best scores over the years are from Angie's recommendations, which won't be out for a while. But I'll go and try to narrow my focus so it's a worthwhile appointment for me *and* the SA:)

ETA: On the Nordstrom website it does currently say that early access starts on July, 13. So perhaps it's different online than in brick-and-mortar stores?

I thought about scheduling a session with an SA, but then I remembered that last year my store really didn't have a single NAS item I was interested in. I think the only benefit I got to in store shopping was to try on one pair of booties that I then went home and ordered in my preferred color. I found the whole in-store situation rather discouraging because the SAs I dealt with had very limited knowledge of the sale inventory. I expected it to be like an extension of here, where we'd all poured over and discussed the inventory repeatedly, instead I just got passed from department to department with blank stares when I'd ask for an item.

My store is new, small and Midwestern, and I think it's just a different experience here than some of the nicer stores. I really enjoy shopping at this Nordstrom the rest of the year, just not for NAS.
