Here is some more info for those who asked.
Fancy socks - I have two pairs of patterned socks, a gift from a friend, that I wear exclusively at home with slippers. For going out I usually wear sheer tights. One day I was in a hurry, quickly slipped my silver oxfords on the patterned socks and off I went. Surprisingly I found the combination funny and interesting. Hence my resolution for the new year.
Warm colors. In addition to my usual cool colors, I have always liked
and worn cream. Recently I am feeling attracted also to cinnamon, mustard, pale yellow … But I think that I had better to experiment these colors with bottoms, I think they are not flattering near my face.
Wardrobe holes. More specifically, my wardrobe holes are:
- occasion wear (Christmas Season, the occasional fancy restaurant, other festive events)
- Summer dresses. A perennial unicorn. My ideal summer dress is impossible to find: not short, not sleeveless, no deep neckline, made in a fabric that I like, in a color that I like, fluid but not too overwhelming, no defined waist (I have a long waist and the waist on dresses always hits just below my ribcage). I have recently found a seamstress who seems promising, I want to consult her about having my dresses tailor-made.
- a few classic elegant pieces for any occasion that requires to be polished – to go to the doctor/hospital/ public offices and, God forbid! funerals.
Plan. Now that the big shopping rush of the holiday season is over and shops are quiet and not crowded, I will go see what I find and will contact the seamstress.
