Ran out to Goodwill for a little treasure hunting therapy after a long week. Couldn't resist these three. Michael by MK black sparkle cowl neck sweater, it fits beautifully (photo 3). A tiny bit worn in a couple places but perfect for my casual SAHM life. ND v neck red tee. I have a terrible time finding tees that I like and this one fits great in very good shape. WHBM black cropped length jeans, love them and in excellent shape. Each only $1 today! (Photo 4)

Early this week I found a beautiful lace ink peplum top from Anthropologie for $3 (photo 1) and a blue floral Banana Republic (photo 2) top for $3. Adding all of these to my Nordstrom Rack Clear the Rack finds and I should be set for awhile. The problem is, finding great deals just makes me want to shop more! How can i resist??

Awesome job! Love stories of thrifting success. I took my husband to Goodwill for the first time a couple weeks ago. He had shoulder surgery so we needed several shirts that we could cut to fit around his sling. He found 5 awesome shirts and 3 nice pairs of pants and declared that Goodwill was his new store..."they have what I want. The regular stores don't."

A girl after my own heart! Great loot. That lace top looks exquisite. I found a beautiful Talbot's black cotton lace top in a thrift store 2 years ago (tags still on) and have found it so useful. I feel like Carter's husband: it's amazing how often I find just what I want--after searching everywhere else--in a thrift shop. Good for you!

The Goodwill stores near me aren't as great as the ones I frequented in college - around here, there are lots of Crossroads & Buffalo Exchange stores willing to buy the most current things, so Goodwill doesn't have as many hidden gems. I used to spend so much time at Goodwill... and my college dorm was right next to a Salvation Army store, source of half my college clothes, much of the dishware I still use 15 years later, and a constant supply of trashy novels for the dorm library!

Rachy, there are Goodwill Boutique stores in SF (West Portal) and Menlo Park. Maybe there are others in the area. They cherry-pick the donations and send the good things to the Boutique locations.

There are Goodwill Boutique stores in other areas too. Their prices are higher but their clearance sales are huge temptations. Melaine, it is hard to resist when you have had some great finds. I have to be very disciplined not to be seduced by the prices on items that are almost but not quite what I want.

i have never seen a GW boutique, I would love to check one out. i do think that thrift stores in more affluent areas get better donations. My neighborhood is pretty crummy but we are next to one of the nicest neighborhoods in the area, which is where I think the nicer brands come from. I love the surprises of different, colors, brands and styles all in one place at a steal of a price. I have definitely been to thrift stores I would not return to.
