An impeccable modern classic trench coat in a soft shade of toffee that has a hint of blush. The fabric is luxurious and the fit is streamlined yet comfortable. Straighter fit on the hips. Chic. Looks as good as a Burberry.

A retro cape in a micro, earth-toned houndstooth. The faux fur collar is removable. It's roomy, but can work on a slight frame if you are at least regular height. The pocket slits and tapered shoulders add just enough structure to the volume of the piece. It looks best all buttoned up to my eye. Dramatic, fun, and can be dressed up or down.

The best short fitted puffer I've seen all year. Glitzy, chic and dressy. Not sporty. It's Zara but very well made. The black piping detailing is SUPERB, the chevron quilting is awfully slimming, and the cut on the funnel neck is architectural. Long necks pull off this style best. The red is less bright in person. More fire engine than tomato. Comes in four colours. The toffee is hanging in my coat closet. I LOVE it.

These fluid turtlenecks are excellent updated wardrobe essentials. Their fitted welt makes them more structured than the boyfriend silhouette from J.Crew, and the colours are versatile. I bought one in black and toffee.

I bought this in heathered oatmeal, and I’m considering more colours because I love the fit and quality. Boden used to run large, but at the moment their knitwear runs a little small. The size 2, which is the smallest size, is slightly smaller than J.Crew’s Cashmere Tippi in an XS. The neckline is higher, which is why I prefer this fit to the Tippi.

Modern Retro Fabness. These ultra trendy trousers are an acquired taste. They bring back the '80s in a wonderful way, although the fabric is very '40s. You have to wear them with a tucked top to showcase the buckle detailing, otherwise what's the point? Works well on a curvy figure with a defined waist, or a more rectangular figure with a defined waist. They pouf out when you sit, so you have to be okay with that. Exquisite quality and very comfy.

A patent rust-coloured bootie with a higher shaft is a rare find. Moderately comfortable and equestrian-inspired.

Soft, drapey and refined. Best on a long neck and small to regular bust. Extra long sleeves. Might run a size small.

Quite exclusive in the cognac colourway. They are a little less orange than in the photo. Refined Equestrian at its best. Well suited to low and regular volume feet and very comfy. Runs a size big like most Prada footwear. I saved up for these, and they are mine. I couldn't be happier with them.

A textured WARM oatmeal bag is another way to brighten a dark Winter outfit. Especially good on platinum blondes because it picks up the colours in their hair. Impeccable quality, and one of the best structured bags of the season. Gold hardware is subtle. Chic.

A fashion-forward shirt dress in a rich shade of olive. The fabric drapes surprisingly well despite its stiffness. Love the side entry pockets. Works well on all body types except pretty pears. As roomy as it looks, it's cut quite narrow on the hips. You have to be okay with the shapeless sack silhouette, so watch out. Runs small.

These shoes excited me the most at the NAS because they look fresh and modern. Sporty Luxe Fabness. The white sole makes the shoe pretty, refined and less masculine. The wheat is the original shade of the Timberland boot along with the yellow laces. It's comfortable for low volume feet and narrow ankles. Not going to work all that well for wider feet and ankles. Also, you have to take your time to put on these booties. No easy zipper access.
