i have not read the book, the important thing is to know what looks on you, and dressing for the ocassion, i usually dress a bit more than it should be, you never go wrong, formal dressing for a black tie, i think is the hardest to find the right evening gown, I’m fed up wearing black, so i dared to get a bright color evening gown without looking tacky or cheap, with nice accessories simple, like they say less is more. i sure will get the book, sometimes you have so much clothes and say wow i got nothing to wear, so this should be a great guide!!!!!!

This is a pretty good guide with lots of visuals on what to wear in different life situations and events.
Clothes featured are on trend and up to date, although models are not varied.
The best feature of this book is that the life situations that are presented are very realistic, and based on everyday life, not just special occasions. For example, there is a chapter on what to wear to the park with your dog, what to wear on errands, to the market, etc.

For each situation, the goal is stated clearly in the beginning. Clear, easy to find tabs give more suggestion as for what to go for and steer clear of. This makes it a good tool to build an outfit when pressed by time.

But the models (authors) are both young white girls, and sometimes I wonder if the book wasn’t geared to that audience only. Some of the outfits don’t seem all that appropriate for an older reader, although outfit alternatives given do work (but no pics).
