Zara sizing: small, large or TTS?

I have only been in Zara once, briefly, in Vancouver. How does their sizing run compared to, say, Gap, j. crew or other standard size places?

Not that I'm considering anything... (ducks head)

At Gap I was mainly running between small and medium, and size 2-4 in their jeans. I went to Zara for the first time this weekend and tried a dress on in size small and couldn't get it off...I was totally stuck in the dress and freaking out in the dressing room! I thought I was going to have to tear it off LOL! The blazers seemed to run small too. So, from my limited experience, I'd say they run small. I was so traumatized I ended up not getting anything On the other hand, H&M tends to run small for me too...there I mostly was size 8-10 in the tops & skirts I bought.

Definitely smaller than J.Crew and GAP. I almost always have to size up at Zara. But then, I have to size down at J. Crew . . . so what does it all mean? I have no idea!

OMG MNsara, I had the dress all the way unzipped and still couldn't get it off...I was bent over, yanking it over my head--I couldn't pull it up and couldn't pull it back down. I have never felt so much like a sausage in my life! Ugh! So glad no one was there to see me!

Zara runs small even for European ( non couture) brands. And it's definitely better than H&M , more clean lines, more sophistication, unfortunately also more expensive!

From my one-time experience in one of their stores in the spring, I'd say they run smaller than H&M. Certainly waaay smaller than the Gap, and smaller than J. Crew. I tried on maybe 10 things and nothing worked for me fit-wise (and a few things were of such poor quality, e.g., hems coming undone, that they weren't options for me). My SO, who is tall but quite slim and wears a men's M usually, found that none of the men's jackets fit him unless he sized up to an XL.

smaller than us brands. their skinny studio line is amazing for pants that fit like a glove and hide every flaw. I wear a large in their tops usually but in the skinny studio trousers wear a medium due to high elastane content. These are bar none my skinniest pants in the way they make me look and feel.

Definitely runs small. And inconsistent, I'm afraid. Most of my tops are M, but dresses and jackets are L. I want to order some pants very badly but I have no idea what size!

Oh and another weird thing about Zara sizing is in some items they only make certain sizes, but not others. Where most brands make all sizes of everything, Zara sometimes only makes an it in M and L, or S only or L only. It is really bizarre and no one has a concrete answer on why. Must be something to do with market research though.

Okay, so I ordered everything in a medium, because of my shoulders. We'll see - if nothing works, I'm okay with that. Sounds confusing!

I think so... my order went through, anyway. I only ordered a few things to try - I was tempted by a lot but so much seemed like the sizing would be an issue. Did you get anything? I'm sure it was a stampede this morning. The time difference worked in my favor for once!

Unfortunately, no. The dress I was going to give a go has vaporized from the site. Oh well. Seems to be the story of everything I have seen in the past few months.

Work that Alaska time to your advantage when you can. It must be a pain contacting customer service people on the east coast.

Yesterday they had a sale section with some nicely priced summer blouses that I've been eyeing all summer, is that gone now??

Zara has free delivery, that's pretty sweet!

Like all Spanish brands, Zara runs small compared to other countries' brands. If H&M runs small for you, Zara will definitely run VERY small. I have to size down about two sizes when I shop at H&M, usually, although it may run truer to size on some items. But usually, if I'm a Zara 38, I'll be an H&M 36 or 34 on tops. On bottoms their sizing is American, so it doesn't count.

Also, Zara to me runs bigger than MANGO, for instance.

I would say small, but I was just there and was a medium in tops and blazers and a size 6 in pants - I am usually a 4 or 6 so the larger size worked for me.
