Zara pleated top: k/r

This is tough. Gorgeous print, gorgeous pleating. But very high neck and prego potential. I'm not afraid of just-flattering-enough but I an unsure. Thoughts?

Viva- I think the top is beautiful and especially love it with the Reiss jacket. It comes down to how you feel in it and if you will pull it out with enthusiasm. I am making great progress in not talking myself into something for the "wrong" reasons, thanks to YLF. Do you feel inspired to create a few more outfits with it? I am finding that if I don't settle into options relatively quickly, the new item might be perfect for someone, but never worn by me.

You are gathering a great wardrobe, so keep your happiness factor high.

It is very maternity from the side view - as per my warning. I do think its super cute though, Viv. I love it on you, especially with the jacket. Arty Fabness and definitely JFE.

Thank you all! Truthfully, I tend not to hem and haw for too long, and I was heading out to the post office so it just made sense to take it with me.
Angie and Eliza, I did love it with the jackets. That was the hardest part. But I decided I didn't want to spend $50 on a warm weather top that couldn't stand on its own. I did feel like a young mum in it and that was not what I was going for!

I have benefited from similar encouragement to listen to my inner voice.
If it's going to be hard to wear or I don't want to rip the tags off, it is likely wrong. OTOH I've learned not to rip tags just based on in-store try-on, or a quick tryon when I'm tired, before I've had a chance to do a good home mirror test with several outfit-partners, because sometimes I discover hidden issues about fit and function even though it seemed great right at first.

1. Thank you for trying this top. Now you have saved me the trouble of ordering it.

2. I actually think it looks really great on you, and especially with "our" jacket.

3. I also agree -- a summer top that does not stand alone isn't worth that money.

P.S. I wore "our" jacket today again (fourth wear so far....) and i LOVE it!!!!!

Somehow this was hidden and just saw it. I think you were right to return it. You have a great you for pattern and material flow, however the cut was off and was preggo. It looked great with the jacket to hold it in and accent your waist, but not enough to risk an orphan when the weather warms up b

I also tried this in the store and loved the fabrication. Had to employ the Next strategy because the volume was too much for me as well.
