yublocka: recent work outfits

I've had later starts at work for the past fornight, so I've had time to take some pics in the morning. Here are some of my recent work outfits:

1) New Boden shirt - http://www.flickr.com/photos/yublocka/3886355727/
Does it look like its pulling too much across the bust? Eeek I didn't notice that. And I really need to get a flesh coloured bra don't I? The black one I am wearing is def. way too visible ooops. Otherwise I really like this blouse!!

2) CM microchecks - http://www.flickr.com/photos/yublocka/3887155414/
For request by Vani!!! :) I thought this would be one of my few shirts long enough to wear with these pants. I was wrong wasn't I? Still looks too short. I think I need to get 1 or 2 longer shirts for pants to pull these off better!!

3) Colours over black - http://www.flickr.com/photos/yublocka/3887154756/
This dress has been with me for at least 5-6 years and is still going strong. This is the first year I have worn a cardie over it though. I am really liking this look, even if the sleeves of the dress are longer than the cardie!!

4) Riding to work - http://www.flickr.com/photos/yublocka/3887155794/
I had to pick up my Vespa from the garage and ride it into work this day, so sturdy pants and shoes were a must. I tried to make the top half more dressy than usual since the bottom half was quite casual.
It's hard to make out colours in the photo, but the vest is brown and the jeans are black. I hoped the maroony shoes provided enough brown/black crossover to make the pairing look deliberate.

5) Retrying the Target dress - http://www.flickr.com/photos/yublocka/3886357905/
This dress got mixed reviews last time I posted it, and to be honest I am still not sure its the most flattering. It's comfy though. I've paired it with a new pair of ruched leggings here, which felt nice and comfy!! Looking at the sleeve length on this tshirt is a good lesson on why dryers are evil - they are mean to be full length sleeves!!!

Hehehe anyway thats my recent lot. I have some unposted casual looks yet to post still too. Stay tuned! Thoughts and comments are always appreciated.

1) Looks like red shirt is pulling a teeny bit but i wouldn't say it's enough to not wear the shirt.
2) Microchecks are fab and i LOVE the yellow shoes
3) Cardi over dress is lovely the sleeves peeking out are great
4) Might be good if you added a girly necklace say pearls, the outfit is great but a bit masculine
5) I like the dress leggings and shoes not sure about the neckline of the top underneath x

I love the cardi over the dress. The difference in sleeve length makes it fun and not so predictable. You are looking great, Miss Tam! I do agree that a longer shirt would be better for the microchecks. The yellow shows are so great. I've been on the hunt for a pair myself to no avail. Bummer. I'm still not sure about the last dress, hard to say when the shot is not straight on.

You look great all around! I LOVE your outfits as usual. I think the Boden blouse looks fine and it's just the way you're standing that is making it pull.

WOW love all of them!

My favorites are 3 and 1. Red is great for you!! And the 3..love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cardi and the red boots! WOW

As to the last one.. I'm not sure if it is the most flattering shape for you also, but you wear it so well..

1. Oooooh Tam! If only I could wear red like you! So gorgeous! (I think you can get away with the shirt as is, the pulling doesn't look obvious). Love the splash of yellow (watch).

2. Fab pants and I don't mind the shirt length here because you are wearing a longer cardigan over it (beautiful colour on you too).

3. Yezzz. I love the shorter sleeved cardi over this dress, and you rock those boots!

4. I agree that this could use a little colour (maybe just a necklace?). The waistcoat looks great.

5. Not sure about the dress over this top Tam (love it over the leggings though!). Have you tried just the dress + a denim jacket worn open?

I always enjoy seeing your pictures. Can't wait to see the casual outfits!

I think Patience is right and it is your stance in the first photo which is making your shirt pull.

Outfit 2 would be fantastic if the shirt was slightly longer.

Outfit 3 LOVE

Outfit 4 LOVE

Outfit 5 is screaming out for your Dr Martens. When I see a T shirt under a dress I always think of Jennifer Aniston is Season 2 of Friends, with the nineties revival emerging I think you may be a trail blazer with this look.

Looking forward to the casual outfits

Woohoo! More fab Tam style. Here’s my 2 cents:

1. Hmmm. Does that shirt really pull that much, or is it because you’re standing like that? Fab colour!

2. No Birkies! Love the shoes. Fab cardi and GREAT pants. I like this outfit – needs a longer top though. You rock that blue.

3. KILLER. Love the yellow watch. This is what Tam style is all about.

4. Fabulous! You look wonderful. What colour is your Vespa? I used to have a scooter too.

5. Sweet! I think ditsy florals work with your bohemian edge. This outfit needs a cool cross body bag. You pull it off.

How is Andrew?

Thanks for all the feedback!

I'm glad you think the Boden shirt pulling itsn't a deal-breaker. I can't remember thinking it was too tight when I wore it, so perhaps you're right that it's the way I'm standing here that is funny.

I think you have all confirmed that the purple shirt in #2 is too short for pants! Shame as this is one of my longest shirts (except maybe a summer one that is packed away). I have just ordered a longer shirt online at jcrew along with the ruffled singlet top you recommended for summer Angie (both on sale!! woohoo)!!!

Seems like the jury is still out on dress #3. I will try it with a cardigan (why hadn't I thought of that???) and see if that mixes it up a bit. R+J I don't remember Jennifer Anniston wearing Tshirts under dresses, but its something I have done with several of my dresses this winter. I don't mind the look at all. Maybe because it takes me back to my school pinafore wearing days??

Haha Angie, no Birkies in sight. I don't wear them to work - even in summer!! They have gotten a look-in on some of the warmer weekends we have had lately, but nowhere near as often as usual. My Vespa is a mint green colour. Her name is Betty - she is pretty!!!! Here's a pic of Andrew washing her a couple of years ago. And thanks for asking about Andrew! He has enjoyed Chichago immensley and his presentation went really well (although I just realised I didn't ask what he ended up wearing!!). He's en route to Washington now - hope he has fun there! I am missing him though - its a bit lonely being here by myself all weekend!!

Interesting thanks R+J!!! I don't mind the look on Chloe either - well apart from the weird sandals and socks!!!

Such 90's looks with the T under the ditsy floral frock. Can't do the same look again, but I'm open to an improved look.

Tam, Betsy is fabulous! My scooter was cobalt blue. Not nearly as pretty as yours. Glad that Andrew is enjoying himself in the US and I hope that you have him back soon to keep you company. Did you send Andrew shopping for you?

I love all the outfits! The red suits you like a glove

I love the yellow shoes with the rest of the outfit, it gives this instand pop to the whole look! I like. =)
