Melissa shoes are superpopular in Brazil, where I come from. In the last decade or so they've upgraded their jellies with fashion-conscious shoes and collaborations with famous designers (Lagerfeld, Westwood, Jason Wu etc.)

I'm wondering what people think of them. Would they be considered weird or cheesy here in the US?

Below are some of my favorites from the current collection. The kiddie ones are also adorable ("mini Melissa").

And here's the website (there's a US version of the site: http://shopmelissa.com/)

Number 4 was, I think, their first shoe ever, in the 70s! They've "reissued" it. I love the vintage look.

For some reason I picture number 2 worn with fun socks. (And also sockless with wideleg linen pants).
