Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Your killer sandals

I'm a bit tired of looking at sandals so for some relief I thought it would be fun to play a game. Imagine:

You just won the lottery so money is no object. I'm going to introduce you to the magic cobbler. He's amazing! You bring him your shoes, he looks at your feet and he gives you a foot massage. A few days later you return to his shop to pick up your shoes and find that he has transformed your shoes-- by feel only-- into the most comfortable, walkable 24-hour shoes you have ever owned. They will never get dirty and no matter how you feel about your feet, ankles and legs, when you wear these sandals these parts of your body look stellar. So which pair of killer sandals did you run out to buy? There are no constraints, except one. Since you have plenty of money and are now buddies with the magic cobbler, you can buy a killer pair of sandals every year. So the sandals you choose today have to be available in 2009.

P.S. Don't feel obligated to go searching for the perfect sandal. If you feel you have a killer pair of sandals in your closet already, that works too.

These are my killer flat sandals:
http://s386.photobucket.com/al.....uly033.jpg

I like the neutral shade with touch of gold and I call them "gladiator-inspired." They are comfy, although they have no padding or support. I don't mind that but YMMV. My feet don't sweat in them and the straps are soft and don't rub. They are even technically thongs, which I can't normally wear, but the other straps hold my foot into place so the thong doesn't get near the soft spot between my toes. I tromped all over Paris in these last summer - 8-hours+ - no problem.

And these are my killer high heel sandals, the KC Cedar City wedges Angie blogged about:

Aren't they fab???

My dream sandals, if I win the lottery and all shoes are magically extremely comfortable on my feet:

and these:

and these:

and these:
http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/38790 (this is probably the most sane option, comfort-wise)

And the edgiest are these: http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/39120 (aren't they fun?)

Sigh ...

Great idea Patience! What are your picks? :)

I love all those high-end, beautiful shoes that have been linked. Hannah -- those Marni platforms are TDF!

Mine would probably be the YSL cage sandals:

or the YSL Tributes:

P.S. If someone knows of a magic cobbler in the SF Bay Area, let me know ;)

Beautiful shoes, everyone!

I’ll play if I can dodge the foot massage (I loathe pedicures).

I’ve tried both of these on – so uncomfortable but SO fabulous:

And the killer Nanette Lepore heel that Angie posted in the nude shoe post:

It is so fun to see what we would do if all our conditions could be met!

Of course you can skip the foot massage, Angie.

Such killer sandals! I'm drooling over my keyboard. Mine are:

http://www.amazon.com/Via-Spig.....B001EO78T2

They actually are in my closet even though they are higher than my usual max height. They're for special occasions and when I know I'll be sitting a lot. I couldn't resist the appeal to my inner flamenco dancer.

I forgot to say... I feel like looking at all of your sandal selections gives me a hint of each of your inner divas. So fun!

Yes, it is fun looking at everyone's choices! Patience, I love the big flower on your shoes -- flamenco dancer indeed!

Patience - those sandals are SO you. I'd love to see a picture of you and your outfit the next time you wear them!

I have to pairs.

The first I own: http://www.feellonely.cn/article.asp?id=227

The second, I just purchased and am waiting to arrive: http://www.yoox.com/item.asp?c.....8;TP=11227

(I don't have "fussy feet," but I don't purchase leather, so I have to stick with Stellas for this game!)

Greenglove, I could so see you in the Ralph Lauren gladiators. But you would not be wearing the Sergio Rossis very long because I would tackle you to the ground and rip them off your feet for myself. LOL!

The Tahari cage heels have been grabbing my attention all season. I actually am considering getting them; the heel height is in my wheelhouse, and I need a pair of sophisticated black sandals. I might even be able to get away with them at work.

Steph, I love floral theme of your sandals -- so fresh!

KristenKP -- I like the look of the Tahari sandals, and the price is right :)

I am late to this game! It's so hard to choose - especially after having so much fun browsing through all of your awesome selections - but I'd probably go for these or something similar for the comfort factor alone. I love the angled strap at the top.

However, if the magic cobbler can work on an existing pair of pumps instead, I'd love him to make these comfy for my feet to wear. I used to be able to wear them fine, but lately my feet complain if I wear heels that high. Also, I don't have the right toes for most peep-toes.

Kari, how are you coding your links? I've been trying to figure that out. I miss not having pretty links. :)
I saw these sandals the other day, and I haven't been able to get them out of my mind.

What a fun thread Patience! And you ladies have posted some killer sandals here, wow!

I usually have a very long list of items that I want, but strangely enough there isn't really a pair of dream sandals on it.

I like these, because of the unusual (well at least for me) colour. They're not expensive, but I can't wear thong sandals, and I would hesitate because of the gold buckle too.

And I certainly wouldn't mind having these (in Pruna) in my closet.

Inge -- I've totally been eyeing those same Chies :)

Well, "thanks" Inge and Cciele - now I want these sandals too! Grrr ... How do you come up with all this amazing footwear?

Posted 8 months ago

Heehee Hannah! Not that I want to be a big enabler or anything, but here's one of my favorite websites for funky European shoes:
http://www.pedshoes.com/

And these ones are particularly HOT:

Oh, my god! The only thing that stops me is that Israeli customs will charge me an arm and a leg, so anything I order will practically cost me double :(

I actually followed the link to pedshoes, completely drooled over my whole keyboard, found Coclico Odalisk and went back to ask you whether you saw these stunning sandals. And viola! - your second link is exactly to Coclico Odalisk!

Oh my ... excuse me, I am going to drool some more over the shoes at this site... and the handbags too ...

Ana, I think we chose the same ruffled sandals :0)

Cathy, I LOVE that site. See how many low heeled shoes there are in that neck of the woods?

Oh boy, I am a sandals FIEND! I wish I could wear sandals year-round, and I have quite a collection, mostly acquired from the above mentioned Ped Shoes (http://www.pedshoes.com), which really is an awesome site.

Here are the ones I bought this year (minimal, practical, and crazy comfortable--the picture doesn't really do them justice 'cause they are extremely cute in person): http://www.pedshoes.com/jutta_.....lorID=1038

And these are the ones I'm thinking about getting, now that Ped's summer sale has made the price a little nicer (because, after all, I don't really have all the money in the world): http://www.pedshoes.com/cydwoq.....lorID=1403

You ladies have amazing taste. Thanks to that darned http://www.pedshoes.com link I have fallen in love with a pair of white boots that I can't afford :)
